I need several loads of gravel for my road, between Bloomfield and Puxico. I don't know too much about it, but it would be really nice to get it from someone who didn't want to rip me off. Anyone have any advice?

Agreed, don't use Donnie Williams. That crap he sells as red clay gravel is hardly gravel. It is almost all clay with a few small rocks in it. Think about this, if you buy a load of rock, no matter what you do, the freight is going to be between 30% and 75% of the total cost. I would buy 2" crushed stone. If you buy it from Arab or Poplar Bluff you will get a much better product then the rock from Cape or Scott City. The rock from Cape or Scott City is too soft and will wear out too quickly. Plus it will make more dust.

Thanks, people! This is good information--just what I needed. I love it when Topix is useful and not just about spreading gossip.

I'll call Mr. Edwards and the place in Arab (if I can track down the number) and get some prices.

I know for a fact that Kent Edwards Trucking will do you a good job and be upfront and honest with you. All you have to do is call him. His number is in the phone book under Kent Edwards.
