I have lived in several places in my life and there are always people who hate the town or city where they live. I beleive the problem lies within the person and not the town. And before it is ask why I lived in different places, it's because I went where my employers sent me. I chose Dexter as my final place to live

We do not dislike DEXTER or the people who live here. BUT the ones in charge are not doing there jobs from the mayor to the workers they all are crooks. So watch your back.

I have lived here for over 20 years and really like it. I believe that the city officials/police are doing their job. We don't have to worry about gangs, drug violence, drive by shootings, etc. Your children can play in your yard without having the fear of getting kidnapped. We have lovely neighbors that would help us with anything and vice versa. Maybe you just have a sorry life or some other grief that makes it impossible for you to be proud of where you live. No one is keeping you hear so please feel free to leave at your most earliest convenience.

i am so happy that i live in dexter i have lived in bigger towns/cities my son goes to dexter school and i will say that they need to work on the school. i also agree with musician. we dont have to protect our kids from gangs and drive bys. yes there are drugs here but they are everywhere. so jake the snake move its not hard and really dont cost that much... we dont need ppl like you here so go be happy somewhere eles. I grew up in Dexter, lived the first 25 years of life there until got married and moved because of my husband. Yes Dexter had it's issues but all towns do for the most part it was a great town to live in. It wasn't so small that you had to drive 20 minutes to get to a decent grocery store, Wal-Mart etc and yet it wasn't so big that you didn't know who your neighbors were or had to worry about the gangs, violence etc of the big cities. True when I was a kid I hated it and wanted to move to a big city where everyone didn't know my parents to call them and tell everything but now that I am older and have kids of my own I can see how helpful they were and probably kept me from doing something stupid.

No matter where you end up in life the town is not going to be perfect, you are always going to have city officials that do things you do not agree with, have neighbors who you dislike, schools that could improve etc but if you do not make the most of it then you are the one that will be miserable not those around you.

Dexter schools are nearly perfect compared to some of other schools I have had to send my children to.

i like living in dexter, but i will admit not everything is perfect, but its not ever going to be "perfect" anywhere. but as far as dexter schools, i would not send my child there. my nephew was called a f---ing fag by his teaching and nothing was done, he changed schools his senior year, is that right, hell no, but like i said nothing is perfect.

I lived in Dexter for over twenty years and all of my children went to school there. It is not perfect and I don't care for the Police Chief, but there have been worse and my children were never harassed.

I prefer living in the country or I would still be there; overall in comparison to other towns it is a good place to live and raise a family.
