Wow - who would have thought that living next to the airport would be a quiet place to live. It takes a real genius to realize that it is noisy. My suggestion is to move if you don't like the noise.

Des Plaines 6th Ward is more noisy than ever. The south side of Des Plaines should revolt against Moylan and Mark Walsten. Phony meeting paid for by Daley and the OHare expansion team. They told us Daley ran out of money to repair and soundproof homes.

Mike lives in North Carolina, and he gets it. Don't live near one of the busiest airports in the world and complain about noise.

OHare has been a "neighbor" of Park Ridge from day one. The town is bordered on two sides by expressways and bisected by metra railroad tracks.

Guess what, there's noise!

I went to Maine East and they flew over (22R) all day long. Nobody gave a **** then. The spoiled little Maine South brats need to toughen up. The land of the WASP is under aerial attack...OMG!

Hmmmm, are they going to start complaining about the Metra train making noise next? Or maybe the traffic from the roads. I live in Edison Park, right next to Park Ridge. My home is not 'soundproofed', and I dont even notice the planes, or any other city noises for that matter. If it really bothered me that much, I would not be living here. COMMON SENSE PEOPLE! That town Park Ridge is extremely snobby actually. Some of their laws are ridiculous, especially the one banning bars. So all the Park Ridge residents drive to Edison Park to drink, then drive drunk home.

Everyone complains about noise, but it is really all the jet exhaust spewing on your neighborhood that you should worry about. My grandma lives near Midway and everyone's roof has turned colors from the air. Needless to say, I don't live near the airport.

Yes, I grew up in Park Ridge but bought our current house because it was in a quiet neighborhood. No longer... Anyone who says I should have known better needs to come spend an afternoon in our back yard where "small to medium" 747's fly over our house. Regional jets my butt... This is *ALL* Daley's doing..
Who owns O'Hare? Not the FAA, it's Chicago... They want the tax revenue, they need to make concessions and help the neighbors.

Hmm, let's see. O'Hare was constructed between 1942 and 1943. Unless these idiots bought their place prior to that, they need to quit their b-itchin'.

It doesn't take Einstein to discover that living next to an airport is going to be noisy.

The FAA should tell Park Ridge residents to go pound sand with their noise complaints. You live by an airport. Deal with it--the airport is more important than you!

Hey, the real story, Tribune, if you were doing your job, is the lack of use this new runway gets. Other than using it as an arrival runway when a westerly wind prevails, this runway gets 0 activity. Cost taxpayers hundreds of millions, yet it is mostly an auxilliary, back-up runway under very limited wind conditions. The expenditures for it, the new control tower, and the related infrastructure is all governmental waste which the Democrats should get 150% of the blame for. Forget the noise issue; that debate is over. Try government waste and vote these god-forsaken Democrats out of office.

Planes make noise... what a shocking news story. On the flip side, whatever runway the planes are not landing on reports a decrease in the noise level.

My fiance's parents live right under the flight path in Des Plaines right by the Allstate arena. Even there it is nowhere near as park as the losers that live in park ridge make it sound. Guess what morons that live in Park Ridge, there is a place just to your sw that has large things with big powerful engines called airplanes flying in and out everyday. If you wanted somewhere quiet you could have gone somewhere not under a flight path morons

Chicago does not have to do anything really. Where do you think Park Ridge gets its water supply from? Where do park ridge people go to say they went to Chicago (Edison Park). Park Ridge is nothing without Chicago and that airport. Park Ridge is just a town that so wants to be a rich northshore burb but cant because the big bad city has airplanes flying into a airport that has been there long before the rich made Park Ridge into a place the world could do without

When my sister and brother-in-law were visiting a month to help me with a garage sale I was having, several 747s and other larger planes were on their approach to land. Jeff said how can you stand that noise? I said, I guess you just become immune to it after living in the Roselle area for more than 20 years. As to one post saying if you don't like it move: Much easier said than done. Have you checked the housing market lately???

Mayor Daley's iron hand rule rule goes beyond the city limits,as you see.City or Suburbs it makes no difference.

One way to fight this twisted little man ,is to attack his Olypmic dream. Daley will be conducting a listening tour of all 50 Chicago Wards. The schedule is on the 2016 committee web site.
