Boo - hoo Park Ridge. You people make me sick. Oh, maybe with the noise you won't mind that PADS shelter now?
No, we'd still mind it.

What I find interesting is the level of resentment that so many bloggers have for Park Ridge. What is it about the place that inspires such anger and contempt?
I live nearby and I admit that there is something very Stepford-like about the community (and the way they treated the PADS people didn't help matters). But that seems kind of besides the point, don't you think?
'Stepford' about Park Ridge??? Been to Naperville lately?

Oh, and let's be clear; PADS mistreated PR, not the other way around.

It used to be that runway 22L was the only question. Restrictions made it manage-able...
Now, there is a NEW runway - one that was not there before.

Someone changed the rules.
That's okay with the usual morons who post here.

Hey everybody! This topix thread crossed my mind and I thought let's see if anything has been added.

It's a year after my last visit, and what, two years since it started. Are the planes still landing overhead in PR? We sold our house in Des Plaines and moved to Kenosha. WOW! Talk about a dramatic decrease in ambient noise! My family now sleeps like exhausted two year olds! Amazing. Not trying to be a dweeb, really, just had lived in the NW Burb's my whole life, from Palatine down to the NW side of the city, and I suppose I just "got used to it" but not really. Now after one month in Kenosha with maybe one jet a day flying overhead (and nearly inaudible) I am amazed at how much better we feel, my blood pressure is lower, and general attitude is vastly improved.

Anyway, I think a move was the only answer to this ongoing debate. I highly recommend it if you can. Metro Chicago is just too damn noisy!

Oh gee wiz Move already, the Airport was there first and you moved close to it. Deal with it or move. Maybe if the cry babies in Park Ridge need to be reminded that there are far worse things then some air port noise.
I hope some horrible natural disaster befalls your town and destroys all of it. Then you will all have a great reason to move…if you survive it.

LLA, you'd actually prefer Bartlett? I would never want to move there! Worse than Des Plaines or Sciller park. Yikes!

So, the lakefront being two minutes away, free parking, no lines, a not-crowded beach, boat launch, and no traffic isn't your cup of tea? Yeah, Bartlett is soooo much better than that. If Kenosha is so bad that you would never, ever want to live there, then why do I see tons of Illinois plates here every weekend? Because it sucks? No, they're here because Chicagoland sucks and they want to get away from it for a few days.

Hey, anybody know how to find out about getting replacement windows if you're in a flight path? I don't know if it's from the FAA or O'Hare or what I know it's out there, just can't find where! I also heard if you don't have central a/c you could get that as well as a new furnace if the new a/c won't work with your old one. My Mom lives in Chicago near Pk Ridge and sometimes is sounds like the planes are going to land on the roof. Thanks!

Came down to Hell Plaines last night for diner. No planes overhead, but taking of going northwest. Still find it hard to believe I tolerated that for as long as I did! Soooo much nicer living away from the urban area. Quiet, peaceful, wonderful. Makes our decision to sell our house at a minor loss seem to be one of the best decisions I have made! Bartlett? LMAO!!!

other towns had to deal with airplane noise for years, suck it up and deal with it. YOU LIVE NEXT TO ONE OF THE LARGEST AIRPORTS IN THE WORLD!

The analogy to your suggestion for people to move, is very much like the potato-heads who lived near the Chicago stockyards on the south side. You could always smell one of them, they always stunk of cow manure.

you are such a moron. Though you listed your comments under different names, your home town is still revealed. Your stupid comments are proof that you are a real dummy and mentally challenged, which is just the sort useful idiot Daley needs for support.

Why in HELL would you buy a house close to an airport and expect not to hear any aircraft.

Daily Horoscope for June 1

Taurus

Some people are full of talk today and the trouble is that they don't know when to shut up. Who needs all the trivial details? Retro Venus is favoured in Gemini, so financial matters may resurface, and you may be inclined to change your point of view. Think long term, especially if you are tempted to form an important liaison, or partnership.
