this is so sad because makael is just a little boy, i was actually a waitress in "Check,Please" and before the show when Daniel sang his song to makael, i couldn't help but cry. i believe children shouldn't have to get sick like this and it's truly a tradegy but hopefully it opens people's eyes to the seriousness of Diffused Intrinsic Pontine Glioma

I wonder why his condition is inoperable. Is it because the tumor is too close to a specific part of the brain? If doctors are certain about the prognosis, it seems to me that surgery might stand a chance. I mean, if he is going to die, why would you not at least try? I don't mean to sound so cold and insensitive. This has to be one of the saddest stories I have read in a very long time. My heart goes out to you folks. If there is a God, I hope he gets you through this.

I am good friends with Makael's family. Makael Shaw turned five on October 5, 2009 and sadly died on the morning of October 11, 2009. He was a great, and precious little boy. He took his last breath at 4:50am on the 11th. In loving memory Makael Amory Shaw. The family is struggling with paying the mass of amounts of funeral service and hospital bills, if anyone would like to help, donations are being taken at Wells Fargo under Miracle for Makael Fund.
