Review: R & J's World Of Pets

This store does not back up its advertised pricing. I, intending on purchasing a puppy for 399 dollars decided to play with and hold it. After this the store manager said the puppy was 450. She wouldn't tell me in person or even offer to negotiate (even though the mistake was their) Shame on her...shame...shame....shame

are you sure that wasn't with the tax ?
i have had no problems with that store what so ever,

I can provide proof and links that the owner of this store is horrible. She is on a USDA list of Class B Dealers that supply puppies, kittens, dogs, cates, etc to Laboratories for testing. And that is putting it nicely.

I am also in process of doing research to prove that she does business with Puppy Mills!!!

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the owner provides animals for lab tests. I used to be an employee there and I witnessed her allowing animals health to deteriorate to the point of death without providing them any care. She always had a "reason" why the animal was supposedly okay. She also treated her employees terribly and required us to attend meetings without being paid and threatened us with termination if we did not attend.

Are you aware that the petshops buy their puppies from puppy mills? Everytime you buy a pup from a petshop, you are helping the puppy mills stay in business. Have you seen a puppy mill? Check this out before you donate your money to the world of puppy hell. http://canine-world.com/

Almost every pet store does business with puppy mills. They are cruelty-based buisneses that prey upon the uneducated public's desire for companion animals. Unfortunately, protection of companion animals in ND is even farther behind the curve than the rest of the country because the farm lobby fights against even rudimentary animal protection laws on the grounds that they might be applicable to farm animals, which would be a good thing, as many are treated appallingly on the way to your dinner table. PurrFect Pets in North Minot carries tons of PET suplies and almost any food you can think of, and do not sell dogs or cats. Souris Valley Animal Shelter can provide you with a wonderful companion. Shelter animals are good critters stuck in a bad situation, and I've never known one who wasn't obviously grateful for a second chance on being adopted. As members of a so-called civilized, Christian society, the animals in our care deserve our protection. As God sees every sparrow that falls, so he sees those who are maltreated and those who perpetuate the maltreatment.

I suppose it is a half and half situation for my husband and I. We recently bought a pet from this store and only afterwards did we find out how many people have issues with their animals when buying from there. I would say that if I had known I wouldn't have gotten my puppy there, but, we fell in love with our puppy at first sight. So, in the end I don't think it would have mattered. But the puppy's health was deplorable, skin infection, knicks from a groomer's clippers, a yeast infection in both ears. The vet wasn't even sure the puppy would get through all of it, but..the puppy has and is a happy part of our family now. You can bet your bottom dollar I am now the loudest mouthpiece telling everyone I know looking for a pet, NOT to buy from there.
I would even rather drive all the way to PetSmart for fun doggy shopping than go back in there for anything for our fur child.

Thanks for sharing. I will never spend a dollar in her store. Run her out of business if she is doing this. Pass the word. Deplorable way to treat animals.

Why does everyone not buy a $300 dollar dog and take it to that freggin idiotic "bark park"! How stupid is that? Or walk your dogs over the bridge from the International Inn to the Airport? It seems like we should have other things to complain about than where to buy a stupid puppy... Like firing whoever the genius was that spent taxpayer money on these gigantic, steaming piles of crap... No wonder Minot is a sewer...
