I miss the old days when I could drive blind drunk and nobody cared. Driving drunk was part of the Buffalo culture. Of course, I did all my drunk driving in the city where the speed limits were low and the worst that could happen was a fender bender.

Back in the good old days, you could drive the streets in the middle of the day, chugging out of a Genny "pounder" and the cops didn't care.

Back in 70's, I was driving around from bar to bar while slugging Schmidt's long necks out of a cooler on my front seat. A Buffalo cop car pulled up along side of me on Hertel Ave as I was tipping one back. They pulled me over. As they approached the car, I held out two long necks to them. They said "Thank's, man. You drive carefully" and they drove off with their beers.

They knew I driving slowly and I wasn't out to hurt anybody

Brother, I miss the old days too, when my family was happy, healthy, and intact. Before the drunk driver made our lives a living hell.
