what The &$#@!% is up with the Assessments

With the current financial condition of America being blamed partly on the devaluation of homes how is it possible that Derby NY assessments have skyrocketed? I purchased my home 7 yrs ago and it is now assessed for 80% more than its purchase value. Can someone please explain this to me. Donald Trumph doen't do this well with his investments.

It has happen to my parents in Angola, and its happening to many people in Erie County. Listen, when you have a dwindling tax base, with more and more people moving out of Erie County to neighboring counties, or even out of State someone has to pick up the loss, and those are the people who are left behind, like you and my parents. My parents are fed up with it, and are moving out of NYS once they retire in a few years.

My only advice is to do some digging around. Here is a tip. Go to the Erie County Tax Assessment Website, and pull up all your neighbors, but more importantly look at the tax assessment of the individuals who are in charge of setting these tax rates. I don't want to name, names, but the individuals who are in charge of setting these assessments have either reduced their housing assessment, or it remained the same, or it went up by a marginal increase, for both themselves, and their friends, while everyone has increased substantially. These individuals have several homes, and some of them are along the lake, which belong to them or friends.

Many, many are beginning to protest their assessments, and there will be an investigation of the individuals who are unfairly protecting themselves, or friends.

My suggestion is just like everyone else has done. Move out of NYS, and as you are driving across the border, flip them the bird, and keep driving. Just like Calif, and Conn, NY will be requesting a financial bail out.

Is it not great when we outsource all of our great jobs. I hate to turn this political, but I have to vomit when John McCain says the American people are the greatest producers, most effective workers, most innovative, hardest working, etc...

Really, jerk off!!! Is that why you are the biggest free trader, and has been the biggest proponent of outsourcing jobs overseas. He speaks so highly of the American workers, yet he has allowed all of our great jobs to go overseas, and has forced the American people to lower their standard of living just to compete against third world workers. Great job scumbag!!!
