Dr. Ivan D'Souza's Medical License Suspended

According to a press release on 6/19 from the Erie county sheriff's office he had a court hearing scheduled for July 20th in Springville. Has anyone heard any information on that court hearing? I believe it was just a hearing for 2 charges stemming from the June 15th arrest and arraignment and not the original 43 charges.

Hi, i just wanted to voice my opinion. Dr. D'Souza made my pregnancy wonderful. I ended up losing a twin during my pregnancy...very early on. He was so kind and caring to both myself and my family. He walked me through this pregnancy with his faith that everything would be okay. The delivery at Childrens hospital was wonderful and I wouldn't have done it without him. I can't believe that some people would make these accusations. My personal opinion is I highly doubt these women and I think greed has taken over. May the lord look over Dr. D'Souza and his family.

I personally went to the same practice he was in but only saw him once I felt a little uncomfortable around him, but nothing gross. I can't say anything bad about the practice tho I had my first child this past october and they were amazing!

I am a very spiritual person also. I would never ask any force to watch over someone and not another in a case that so obviously afflicts pain to all involved. I had so much esteem for dr dsouza that I trusted him thoroughly and listened to all of his medical advice, outside of gynecology even. That is when I was taken by surprise with his "show of interest" I'll call it. You might think you do, but you don't always know people. I don't know why, it's even still hard for me to talk about. He told me I was like his daughter. Anyway, no money is involved for these women and surely no pride or glory comes with admitting these things. If it were your daughter telling you what happened to her, you would see things much differently. I forgive you, you would not be human if you did not try to make the same rationalizations out of the situation that you did, as did I and the rest of us who were taken advantage of. Trying to make sense out of who we thought was so great. Like,-What just happened!? I can't beleive he just did that!- It is shocking! I thought he was a good person, one of the more honest and caring people, and not only do I feel deep remorse, I also feel tremendously let down. I also feel like I let myself down by foolishly trusting. I feel so stupid and gullible. Personally, it has been a very large let down in my life and has only had a negative impact thus far. It is my hope that all will learn from this and be better people from it.

I also wanted to know if anyone has any info on the case. I know both the prosecutor and the defense went before the panel in the past two weeks. What is the outcome of that,- anyone? It seems like someone else here has inside info. Thank you for being here for these other women and myself :)

I'm once again writing in support of the women victimized by their doctor. I am a husband of one of the victims. I think that this forum is very redundant and unneccessary. Let's just agree that this man acted unprofessionally, irresponsibly, and piggishly. His disorder caused strain on many people and their families. HE ABUSED HIS POWER AND POSITION. It is not the fault of any of these women. Let the courts determine what should happen to him. Personally I feel there is overwhelming evidence against him. I read this forum and feel sick at the namecalling, stereotyping, and idiocy that runs rampant. If the man was hitting on women, which he obviously was seeking, in a bar, supermarket, mall, park, ect. then it would be fine. He just be a cheat. But he was seeking sexual relations in his exam room from his own patients-ITS WRONG. I feel really bad for his wife too.

Good always prevails over evil, and justice always wins. Dr. D'Souza will be cleared of all this nonsense. He is a Christian, and he is handling all of this with grace and class. I have been praying for Dr. D'Souza and his family, as they are torn by these falsehoods and persecutions Even God Himself would never judge anyone so harshly as you people are. I shall pray for all your misguided souls God Bless Dr. D'Souza!

You can't deny the facts when more and more complaints come out about this man. And being a "beast" doesn't mean he had this intent every day with every patient. It only takes one time, one patient and it is wrong.

I wonder if he remembers the oath he took:

They aren't "facts," they are "accusations." He is innocent until proven guilty. You people have already convicted him and he hasn't even had his day in court yet. As far as I'm concerned, you are the guilty parties, not Dr. D'Souza.

Hmmmm! Imagine that!! I hope all these liars remember that there is a higher court, and they all still face their judgement days. If they don't fess up here, they'll definitely have to there. I would hate to live the rest of my life with that thought on my mind, and their punishment will be much greater if they carry these lies to their graves.

wow, erica, you should come forward and speak out against this woman. I mean, really. You would help the doctor's case tremendously. I will look for you in the headlines. You should get together with his family and testify on his behalf. The doctor's reputation is far maore important than any friend of yours who lies. Don't you feel bad for him, any patient who had him would. I'll be looking for you to come out in the case soon, you better hurry, what have you been waiting for? I have been a patients of D'Souza'a for 6 years. He is an honest an upfront man. He tells you the truth and the people that have accusations are the ones that can't handle the truth. I have a hard time getting pregnant and he told me straight out that it is due to my weight and if I don't do something about it, I will be 400lbs by the time I'm 40. Yes I did cry at that appointment but it wasnt because of how he spoke to me but because it was the truth. He was not nasty or rude or crude. 9 times out of 10 the ones causing the problems are the ones falsely accusing Dr. D'Souza. I guarantee you have issues with every professional you have ever encountered or used in your lifetime. I can bet the whole kitty that you are having "issues" with your current OB/GYN. None of these accusations are true and the ones accusing are just looking for an easy way out of financial difficulty. You will end up being sorry for the false accusations. How would you feel if you had 40 some people accuse you of sexual harrassment? Put yourself in those shoes, you know that you are innocent but you have 40 people saying you are not. Really think about that and you will only know a fraction of what Dr. D'Souza and his family are going through right now. Hope you are happy cause you just ruined his life and his families.

This conversation has gone round and round but isn't it possible that all of you are right. SOme women for whatever reason ahd terrible experiences with this DR while others received excellent care. If you're one of the ones who loved and trusted him, then count yourself as one of the lucky ones but don't diminish or discount what happened to the others.

Its diminished because they are lying. How can you justify seeing a Dr. for 10 years straight and claiming that he inapproiately touched you at each an every appointment? If this trully happened then why go back. I wouldnt. If that happened I would immediately change Dr's. If he touched me in a manner that was inappropiate I would never want to see that person again. Hello, an OB/GYN has to touch in private areas that is their job to ensure that you are healthy and enables them to catch something before it progresses. An OB/GYN is suppose to check your breasts for any lumps or unusaual secreation from them. Use you heads, he is a professional not a pervert!

Are you saying all of the doctor's on the board at the department of health were fooled by these "liars" as you call them. The board reviewed all of the facts and made their decision that he is a danger to the community. I would believe that panel over anything. Looks like he's guilty
