so when someone says hey that fire is hot, you gonna stick your hand in it to see?
That man warned them. That is not that dogs fault. Grab any dog like that and they are probably gonna bite you out of defense of themselves.
Poor little girl tho. I really hope she is ok.

People in the country have and need dogs to protect their property. That mother should have never taken her eyes off that child. I know accidents happen but she should have been extra cautious, especially after being warned. I live in the country and have a dog that probably would have done the same thing. I also warn people about him. Luckily we have had no incidents. I know people are going to blame the owner of the dog but in these circumstances he is at no fault what so ever. They are lucky it wasn't much worse.

Hmmmmm what is interesting no one is jumping up and down about this dog like they did with the pit bull incidents. Akitas are bigger than pits. i don't blame the dog at all. Feel sorry for the little girl , but the dog was doing what it knew, and they were warned. Responsible dog owner is the key here. Not the breed of dog, not the bite.

you all are saying that the owner of the dog is NOT RESPONSABLE? Was the dog leased or caged? The owner knew the dog to be dangerous?
ATTACK BY DANGEROUS DOG is against the law (health and safety code) OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE if he was aware that the dog was dangerous and may assault a person!
Just because you live in the country, you are responsible for your dogs actions, if you know your dog to be dangerous.
I believe that anyone is an IDIOT if they know their dog to be dangerous and leave free roaming around which could cause injury. STUPID PEOPLE. Think about public safety. A child riding a bicycle may come riding by your property on a county road and a dog charges the child to tear his face off for "protection of property." Dogs mark their own property, they do not think about it being your property. Know you laws and know your dogs.
