I'm so sorry that they did that to you. You know, though, that doesn't surprise me. I was a student there for 3 years about 10 years ago. They truly do awful things to those poor girls. First off, the "academic curriculum" is not real. They give a "diagnostic test" to the students and put them in incredibly low classes (I'm not kidding...like starting with 2nd and 3rd grades). I understand SOME may be so far behind that it MAY be necessary, but most of the time, that is not the case. Still, most girls were automatically put in these low courses because the staff and Kathy/Lin are not able to "help" because they didn't know how to do simple pre-algebra. First off, that is a red flag. They claim we would get a high school diploma? Yeah, don't bet on it. Every single girl that I've spoken to were rejected in college applications because it wasn't "real". I am lucky that I got into college...I am not even sure how I that happened, as that was 6 years ago. I studied my butt off to get my degree because they hindered me in their "high school".
Secondly, there is definitely inappropriate behavior on Lin's behalf. I am a witness to him kissing minors on the mouth, grabbing their butts, and trying to get alone with them.
Thirdly, and most importantly, they are deceptive nut jobs. Cleaning rat-infested dumpsters and trailers (no exaggeration) as punishment for ridiculous things (not smiling, not finishing sermon notes on time, etc), paying their staff practically nothing (not even minimum wage) for their work, and Kathy literally yelling at the girls for not having good enough "goals" in their devotion study lessons ( I was berated many times for not having good enough goals). On "ministry trips", we would have to dress up , put on gobs of makeup, and give a testimony in from of a church of how TCNM has changed us to be better people. Kathy's goal was to deceive the congregation into giving to this cult. Of course, the congregation gave because they knew no better...essentially we were forced to lie to these people. I was never happy and Kathy would tell me that my parent's didn't love me and that they didn't want me home. I was getting over my parent's divorce...going through typical teenage years. Yet, they still treated me like I was trash. I hate how they call themselves "Christian". It's a disgrace. This is definitely a cult in which Kathy and Lin try to control how you think (you're wrong, they're right and they'll let you know that through a dumpster cleaning), what you watch (only Fox News), and what you believe in (their radical "doctrine"). It does not leave you prepared for the real world.
I feel awful for the girls who are still there. I knew many girls who wanted to leave and that Kathy and Lin didn't even notify their parents that they had gone/did not give the student any money to get to a bus. It's all about greed. Although it is about donations, Kathy and Lin have a beautiful house with several vehicles, while the girls live in a rat-infested trailer. Use deductive reasoning, and that is where the monetary donations go to. That place needs to get shut down. The only thing it is helping is making the girls jaded by religion.
Cyndi, I hope you get your son back. Are you still fighting for it? I will keep you in my prayers that you get your son back. I remember him...he was such a sweet little boy. I hope your youngest (he was a such a cutie, too) isn't too hurt by this situation. Best of luck, Cyndi!

Child Protective Services has the boys center shut down and there is another girl that will be contacting them about my dad's inappropriate behavior with girls. It is not possible that all these people with the same story are lying and Lin and Kathy are just being picked on. I had no idea all of this was going on or I would never have sent my son. I am hearing all the same stuff...my dad hit on the TC girls, nobody can get their high school diploma to mean anything or be accepted at other schools, parents could not get school records just like I could not get school records, they wouldn't let students leave and would find ways to drag out their stay, they interfered with parent child relationships and communications between parents and their kids, and Lin and Kathy had way more money than it seems they should have...while the students lived in crap. And anyone who wants to talk gets intimidated or threatened or bribed into not talking or saying things to cover for Lin and Kathy. I'm hearing the same thing over and over. Its like a recording almost. So sad. Could have been so much different.

Sounds like you are living in denial. Look at multiple posts from different girls saying the same thing about this wicked place. Obviously you are the one who is living with your head in the sand! How do you explain the piece KOAT did about the boy's center!? Sounds like they blatantly lied! How do you explain that?! Or the questionable activity that goes on in the girls center! You don't know what you are talking about. I'm amazed at the people that have told me they've "heard" how manipulative I am but have never met me or spent even five minutes getting to know me. There are too many girls that weren't at the center at the same time and don't know each other that I have never met all saying the same thing. I'll leave it at that. |

Amen to that!!!!! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out something is very wrong. All the same stories both with the way girls were treated and the years of "school work" that counted for nothing. That concerns me greatly as a parent. |

There is no doubt Lin and Kathy give people an earful about how horrible I am. I'm not worried about that. I know who I am. But if you haven't spent time actually with me getting to know me for yourself, then you really have no place to say anything because you just don't have all the facts. All of the court proceedings were recorded. There are emails...there are witnesses, there is ample evidence and things that are impossible to explain away.....there is nothing I have posted that cannot be proven. So before you attack, make sure you've done your research. By the way, if you are a female student and you were abused in any way, you should contact the NM Child Services office at 1-855-3337233 and tell them you'd like to talk to someone about the Teen Challenge of NM investigation. Everything you tell them is kept in strict confidence. They cannot divulge anything.

Did ya'll notice on that KOAT news report how Lin tried to blame staff...like they just did that and he had no knowledge of any such thing and that wasn't authorized..the cleaning out of the sewer? But Oh....except for that silly employee hand book he and Kathy wrote for the TC employees. Then when that was brought to his attention his response was "call my lawyer." That reporter did a fantastic job!!!

please dont act like the couple running tc in your city are the only ones fighting to save teens and adults from addiction I am sure there are plenty of hospitals and secular programs doing the same thing not to mention all the 12 step meetings in your city give me a break TC is an Assembly of God christian factory where the bible and the aog philosophy is shoved down peoples throats

You are either justifying their actions in your own mind or you don't really know them. Things are very different behind closed doors. I have a feeling you are justifying their actions and I was right there with you for a time. It is hard to understand how people who have been used by God could do the things they have done and are doing. It is easier to ignore the bad and just focus on the good, but God doesn't have that problem, he is not afraid to deal with sin. Some of the things they do are truly evil, they have used The name of God to do some of the evil things and in looks like now finally they will answer for it - I dont think Lin has enough connections to sweep it under the rug this time! I hope they will repent and truly find freedom in Christ. I suggest for your own good both spiritually and mentally that you deal with the truth. God has given Lin and Kathy many gifts and they use them, but that doesn't mean they can lie, abuse people, or molest poeple and it is somehow ok. read the story of king Saul it really helped me clear the confusion and understand how people can go from being "in the spirit" one minute and in the flesh the next. The exposure isn't evil, the abuse is evil. they have been given time to repent! It has been their choice to continue in sin. I will pray for you, I know the truth is hard to deal with, but it will set you free! |

I believe you are mistaken. I pray for Cyndi and her son. Lin and Kathy are not wholesome people. They are evil, trying to run a program for youth with no credentials to do so. They take these lost children and break them down and degrade and insult them, attack there families, and tear them down.. I am the parent of one of these students. I know my God would not honor these wicked people. They have no honor where the kids are concerned. They are fakes. Hopefully justice will win out and these hypocrites will be taken down and prevented from harming children who are already troubled and suffering. The truth WILL come out. The children are the true victims here. |
