Charges against ex-officer dropped

i love it! The Sanchez'z are good people and im very happy for them that they can move on from this ridiculous case.

OK. TIME TO GET THAT INCOMPETENT FOOLISH NEWELL THE HELL OUT OF OUR LEGAL SYSTEM! I AM TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT HER FAILURE TO ADEQUATELY PROSECUTE CASES.

Deming, do not allow this to be swept under the rug. It is exactly this type of illegal behavior that leads to the apathy that runs the City of Deming/Luna County.

Remove Newell, Silva, McIntuff, Patterson, Moore, Torres and you can begin to rebuild the town based on ethics, morals, and TRUE American values.

Please vote with your conscience. Not with your party affiliation!

And yet here are these charges against them...hmmm, just came out of nowhere, huh? No reason to believe that they might ever serve alcohol to minors, huh. BTW serving alcohol to minors isn't really a bad thing, now is it? People like you are why this town is a laughing stock in the entire state! Grow up. Learn about the law and quit defending those have no ethical or moral defense. IT IS WRONG TO SERVE MINORS ALCOHOL AT PARTIES.

They maybe good people until someone other than their friends catch them doing wrong. They broke the law, if the judge lets them off then they got lucky. Although it seems that alot of people don't get what they deserve when they are charged with something in Deming.

After a close friend (21 years of age and the DD for her friends) was hit and killed by a drunk driver, I am strongly appalled by the case. They need to be held accountable for their actions, before someone has to feel the pain of losing someone by incompetent and wreck less, decisions like serving alcohol to minors and drinking and driving. Wake up people, alcohol leads to so many consequences, get a grip, and make a change.

I like how everyone on these forums talk like they never break the law. If you go over the speed limit you break the law. Not wearing a seat belt you break the law. Letting your kids without drivers license drive your car breaking the law. Letting your kids smoke as teens breaking the law. Lying on your taxes breaking the law. Let's get this straight, this so called minor was twenty, when they went to this party. But we will send our eighteen year olds of this counrty to war. How about the teen that was killed sometime over a year ago, at that party in the county. I believe the paper said that there were over one hundred kids there, what about the people who owned that house, or the parents of those kids who were still in school. I did not see anyone talk about the alcohol that was served at that party or where they got it. I bet half of the kids that were there belong or are related to most of you who keep saying nothing is being done. Imagine that.....

WHAT A JOKE... Deming has the most CORRUPT Police Department in New Mexico. We have a Police Department that preaches that they have great morals and ethics???? WHAT A JOKE!!!! There were Police officers at the Sanchez party allowing minors to drink. That is what you call ethical?? Ya right. And what punishment do these same officers get?? A SIX week PAID vacation at the tax payers expense... WHAT A JOKE!!!! All of the officers who were at this party and observed minors being served alcohol should of been fired or made to resign like Mr Sanchez had to. WHAT DOUBLE STANDARD THE DEMING POLICE HAVE WHEN IT INVOLVES THERE OWN OFFICERS...WE the people of Luna County are tired of the way things are being run here in our town.. Maybe its time to get a New Police Chief and City Administrator that will really want whats best for Deming and Luna County instead of sweeping everything under the carpet when someone in there own department breaks the law. The same Laws that you or I would of gone to jail for.... The punishment these officers got for breaking the law was :: The city paid more than $26,000 in salaries while the six officers were on leave. WOW what a punishment.... WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!

For once, JUSTICE has been served.

I AGREE 100% With this person...

Like this is a big surprise... All the proof in the world and nothing happens to anybody.. I kinda feel bad that Paul Sanchez took the fall for everyone.. All these Police officers were SO called friends of Paul and he is the only one who got punished by being forced to resign.. Everyone of those officers at that party should of been punished the same way.. Its sad that our Police Chief and City Administrator Rick Mcinturff don't have the balls to do the right thing and make sure the proper discipline is handed out to everyone who was involved in this case. Until the Deming Police and all Law Enforcement Agencies start taking accountability for their own officers actions they will NEVER get the citizens of Luna county respect. Its ok for officers to break the law? NO IT IS NOT.. NOBODY SHOULD BE ABOVE THE LAW!!!!!

Another case of the Deming Police sweeping a case under the carpet when it involves there own personnel. We need new people in charge in this town.. I am sick and tired of all the corruption in Luna County.. And I'm sure I'm not the only citizen who feels this way.

Do you know how old your coworkers are? Do you even work? Let me remind you that this dispatcher is in a totally different building as well and doesnt work with all the same officers all the time. Officers are not required to know the ages of the dispatchers. Its time for you to get over it and if you dont like it too bad. Whats done is done and you whinning on here isnt gonna change anything. It is so amusing.. The girl in question "THE MINOR" that was allowed to drink booze at this party was dating a Officer at the time who was also at the party.. LOL give me a break. Deming Police Department Officer Derick Lovelace was the boyfriend of the girl at the time. Did he get any punishment for this? Oh yeah besides the PAID vacation. Whoa what a punishment poor guy... Yeah Right... I am so ashamed that we are represented by CARELESS officers like this. They should all have to resign. Is the City Of Deming BLIND. Everyone needs to contact our City Administrator Rick Mcinturff and demand that something be done. Lets hold these officers accountable for breaking the same laws that they are paid to uphold. How on earth will any youngster or citizen look up to a Police officer who can break a law and nothing happens. Justice needs to be served. The Cops knew the girl was underage and drinking. Bottom line. They got caught. Come this is Deming everyone knows everyone. These dummies posted all the pictures on myspace. Come on now how stupid can you be. I was at the damn party and there was more than one underage person drinking but its more of a mind your own business type of deal. I am not a cop but if I was i would of left that party with the illegal activities going on. Nobody likes being a Rat but wrong is wrong. I would like to see Rogue Hunter tell someones parents get over it when a drunk underage person or any drunk person for that matter runs over there son or daughter.
