Let's hope this will be a new beginning, a fresh start, and you all keep to your word. For those not familiar with the town hall meetings we hope the Deming Headlight will let us know when they occur. I'm not sure if it's already done, but for those wanting to become more involved, or at least to keep informed of what's going on around here, maybe the Deming Headlight can have a section in their paper dedicated to public meetings/hearing dates listed in their paper on a weekly/monthly basis.

I am glad Mr. Armendariz that you are finally able to do your job as a reporter and also exercise your right on the 5th Amendment. We know that the past administration would not let you publish the truth due to legal action that was threatened by Mr. Vinson.
Thank you Mr. John Sutherland, Mr. Fred Willams and Ms. Debra French for all your hard work and integrity by letting Luna County residents be informed about all the good that is happening in this community. |

1 Kevin, Billy…you are scum! You have inflicted more damage upon this community than all of the thousands of drug bearing mules packing the poison weed which have crossed these desert sands over the years you have swaggered here! Now after Topix has come to town you want to raise your heads again hoping for another chance to strike! News flash for you two scumbags it isn’t going to happen! Pack your bags and get out of OUR town! |

WOW !!!! Here I thought things were getting a bit better in people doing the right thing and cleaning up around here, and look at this.
Reading some of these comments on the "Luna County Cleanup" is better than reading a good fiction, except it's not fiction is it ? So whatever happened to the 5th Ammendment.......freedom of speech ? Isn't that what papers are for and they're supposed to print the truth and not be sequestered by others ? From the looks of things, Armanderiz and Buey aren't in the top 10 for their popularity around here are they ? But I'm pretty sure there will be others commenting and coming to their defense, but right now, and they way it looks, I wouldn't want to be in their shoes. I'm hoping that Ms. French, Mr. Sutherland, and Mr. Williams are all honest and untangle this whole mess and lead us down the right path in Deming, it would be a refreshing change....... |

Ten years of observing the local newspaper, Mr. Editor has given me some insight. Clean house, restore integrity, show accountability, and ethics... you write. Well, that applies to the Headlight, too.
Open those doors, clean house, and let the walls come down! Your paper is supposed to be the truthful source of information to your constituents so they are informed on local government actions. However in the past, you chose to support the previous regime because they were your buddies. We saw the "good ole boys" at work in the printed articles.(Were we REALLY at the same meeting?) Just give us the facts-- without the spin! We need "integrity" and "accountability" from the Headlight, Mr. Editor. |
