If the crash was heard, why did no one bother to investigate the source of the sound? Maybe he would have stood a chance at survival. My deepest condolences to his friends and family.

"Witnesses told police that they apparently heard the crash sometime between 2 and 2:30 a.m., but the crash was not reported until 6:39 a.m" And MY post was marked as "clueless"? Someone doesn't like facts or common sense. It doesn't bear repeating; refer to previous post.

This is a parents worse nightmare. I have 2 children who I constantly worry about them driving on the roads at any time of day or night. If we could just make our young people think before they do, it would safe lives. This could have happen to anyones child. I'm so sorry for your loss. Prayers and love go out to Brad's family and friends.

I didn't really know Brad, but my heart goes out to him and his family during their time of loss. What makes me so angry is that witnesses who "heard" the crash didn't go out and look...orcall the cops even if they weren't sure, better safe than sorry, right? My prayers are with Brad and his family, I'm so sorry for your loss... Rip, Brad.

They told me that they heard the crash and immediately looked out of the windows to see if they could see anything. Growing up and living in the same location for over 30 years you tend to hear crashes there alot! When they looked out the windows and seen NOTHING, and even walked outside and again seen NOTHING, seen traffic going in both directions on 74 they had nothing to call into 911! Before people go and judge and say things maybe you should know all the details!! My family memeber feels awful that they were not able to report anything to county control, but either way it would not have made a difference. I feel sorry for the family that lost their child that morning and they have been in my prayers!

Brad was an amazing kid! I had the pleasure of going to Red Lion with him for 6 years and graduating with him. He was a great friend of mine. My heart goes out to his family who cared GREATLY about him! This is shocking to everyone and I understand that people have different ways of dealing with it, but if you have never met Brad or his family do not judge them. It does not matter what time the accident happened, it still happened. Maybe Brad was speeding and maybe he didn't have his seatbelt on, but that is a choice that he and many others make around here. This area of 74 is horrible! Two people were killed this morning in another accident only about a 1/4 mile from the scene of Brad's accident. This should throw up a rad flag for the state police and get them to do something about it! Unfortunately, everyone who has grown up around here knows that it won't. As for the people who live around the scene, we all know that this was not your fault! Brad's car ended up in 2 pieces shoved in a wooded area, there is no way that anyone could have seen his car until the sun came up. I have been to the scene several times and everytime that I am there at least one neighbor comes out to check on all of Brad's friends. We are very close knit around here and when something happens we all take it very hard. Once again, my heart goes out to Brad's family and to the families of the 2 people who were killed this morning. We will love and miss you forever Brad!!

I am so sorry to hear yet another death on the road. I plead with the youth today, PLEASE if you take onething out of this let it be, the world is not the issue, you are. You have to make better choices in life, one misstake could be your last. Accidents happen, but please remember you have the control of the path you chose. I bet Brad is sending a very LOUD message right now, he is saying learn from my one mistake. Stay put if you are out late, don't race in your car, think before you get behind the wheel. He wants you to learn something so his death doesn't get forgotten. He wants you to be smarter. Pleas youth of today, hear what he has to say. Stay safe! My prayers will be with Brad's family and friends.

Paul wrote: Parents should sue for no air bag deployment, anyway an 18 year old out at 2am is up to no good. REALLY?!?!? How do YOU know that an 18 year old out at 2AM is up to no good. What are you Big Brother watching people? Are you trying to passive-aggressily imply that he deserved this because he was up to no good? You, Paul, are a dick for even saying that. Why don't you ease up on your obviously well researched comments about youth in York Co until after the boy's family and friends have had time to mourn him appropriately. The kid just graduated, he was 18. Maybe he was seeing some friends before they left for college or is that not comprehendable to you because you're an ass and you have no friends!!

sue wrote: <quoted text> First and foremost, my heart breaks for this young man's family. He was in fact too young to die. His soul and his family and friends are in my prayers. But this was not the world's fault. It was not God's fault as some are likely to suggest... We all have free will, intelligence & the ability to make decisions. There are speed limits set for safety reasons. Unless he was going to or from work, what was an 18 year old doing out, speeding at 2 in the morning? AGAIN, I mean in no way to sound cold or crass, it is a tragedy and there is no way to make sense of it. I only hope it might be a wake up call to his young friends and others who hear of this horrible loss, to slow down. We are not immortal. Actions sadly have consequences... for ourselves, others innocently nearby and those left behind. And sometimes they are tragic. Again, my heart aches for his family & will keep tham all in prayer. Well Sue, you don't mean to sound cold or crass but you do so I suggest you just shut it down. He was an 18 year old boy getting ready to go on to college, maybe he was visiting friends who were going away to school. The end of the summer after graduation is a time when kids are strengthing old friendships, making promises to each other and spending lots of time together because they know things will be changing. Who knows why he was out at that time but that's not the issue. The issue is that the poor kid's family and the hundreds of mourning teens do not need a a safety lecture at this time or a class in free will and destiny. Right now is not the time for the "I told you so's" about speeding. And, by the way we can as individuals do things "modifiable risk factors" as they are called to take care of ourselves but guess what?? When the Good Lord calls you, the Good Lord calls you and nothing can stop that. Apparently you never experienced working a full on pulseless cardiac arrest of an otherwise healthy 26 year old or standing in a room with a doc while he tells a patient who has NO risk factors, never smoked, that they have lung cancer that is metastasising. So Sue, God or who ever your higher power is plays an enoromous role in these things. All I'm saying is think about how you word things and wait until the inital rawness, shock, and soul shaking hurt has run it's course before you start you lectures A young man is dead, his family, friends, community are greiving and this has been a terrible week for our community.

There are several different things that could have caused this wreck, including a deer running out in the road... I know that Brad was speeding as well as everyone else, but no one knows the exact reason why Brad's car left the road. And once again I will say, it doesn't matter what time the accident happened it still happened. Brad made a mistake that many of us do around here, but he was not given a second chance. I had just talked to Brad a few hours before the wreck happened and NO he was not up to no good. Brad was a caring and responsible person. He could light up any room and almost always did. It is heartless for you all to sit on your computers and judge someone that you have NEVER met! Like I said in my last post, I have known Brad for 6 years and graduated with him. The people that really know him have a right to know what happened. Reading an article and seeing pictures of the car does not give you the right to judge the kind of person he was. Have any of you even looked through pictures of Brad?? In every picture of him you can see what an amazing personality he really had. If you haven't seen pictures of him, please look on his facebook or myspace. Then maybe you will understand how all of us are feeling...
