these people also hire workers according to the needed specialty, and then dont pay them either. so hes not only defrauding the home owners, hes also "stiffing" the workers. its not that all the painters, carpenters, plumbers, etc. are bad. they just didnt get paid by this dude. so he is also ruining reputations in the process of his greedy ways.

This guy is an idiot that gives real tradesman a bad name.All he is,is a crook and a thief.I hope the judge throws the book at them.I bet he is a liscensed contractor as well.Because if he wasn't,they would've already arrested him for working without one.A liscensed contractor is certified to steal from you and there is nothing you can do about it.He is protected by law and it's up to the customer to take them to civil court unless they can prove fraud,which then it goes to the State Attorney's Office for prosecution of fraud.But then don't forget that not only liscensed contactors have rights,but criminals have them as well.Why bother you'll only get the satisfaction of him being in jail because the money for surely will get ate up by the lawyers before the homeowner ever sees a dime.If he can post bond then he could have surely posted a bond in civil court and resolved the matter otherwise.But he chose the latter,because he spent money that he didn't have to spend in the first place just like a credit card.He's just a salesman,nothing more.If he knew how to use a tool then why didn't even go back and finish the job himself?Because he is liscensed,and a good talker.Being liscensed doesn't mean that you won't get ripped off or have shoddy work done.It just gives the government some type of control over you so they can keep track of you,just like a driver's liscense.Just because you have one doesn't mean you know how to drive.The same goes for lawyers,because most them are idiots in the first place.They have a liscense too.Liscense means squat.

I, too hired this idiot in 2005 to build an addition to my home. After taking a large deposit, all he did was have an arctitect draw some plans. No work was ever started. I had to sue him just to end up getting back less than a third of my deposit. I can't believe he has been allowed to operate all these years while under investigation.

I've know Doug a long time, smoked lots of weed with him, at one point rented a room from him, I certainly can say while ripping off countless numbers of people, he never once showed any remorse for it.
Yes he could sell too, he could talk the pants off of a nun in church. Knowing his personality I try to picture him locked up, lol. No doubt he will cop additional time while incarcerated,. Floridians are much safer with him behind bars.
