BFD. As the article states:' "As she clearly stated at the event, her personal views on issues are irrelevant to her work of advancing the administration's agenda," the official added.'

Obama has done more for marijuana smokers than he has done for gay rights. Although I supported and voted for him in '08, I will NOT vote for him in '12 unless he does something worthwhile soon. If he thinks that I and thousands (millions?) of gay people will still vote for him he is DEAD wrong. I am in my 60's and I'm damn tired for waiting for this piss elegant president to get off his ass and fulfill him campaign promises!

Oh, come now. He signed the hate crimes bill into law. It seems anti-climactic,(to me at least), but it IS the first pro-gay and trans federal legislation in history.

It's not enough. Since he is going to lose his large majority in the House, and possibly his majority in the Senate in 2010, it will most probably be the one and only GLBT-friendly legislation passed in his term of office. Is that really all you want from his administration?

big words.. seriously, he knows we won't vote for the Republican (since it'll still be popular for them to be anti-gay), and he knows how ever remote the hope is, it's still worth voting for him knowing we didn't take part in electing someone who will reverse any small advances. So just be realistic and stop threatening to not vote or vote third party because in actually doing so, you are more of an enemy to the gays than Obama ever could be.

At least you know where you stand with the repubs. It's really troubling that people actually think that promises made are better than nothing when in reality, they're the same thing. I will NOT vote for him, and lots of other gays won't either, if something substantial does not come out of the executive branch. The hate bill that so many of you are oohing and aashing about was attached to much sign legislation and was NOT pushed by the executive branch. I really wonder if Obama would actually have signed it if it weren't attached. Is he really scared of offending the right wing nut jobs?

As the hate crimes bill was attached to much sign legislation why are you giving it so much attention? The fact is Obama has been more anti gay rights than pro, and has actually done more marijuana smokers. No, I will not vote for those who throw us under the bus, and neither should you. Unfulfilled promises are the same as nothing.
