Albany murder suspect says police have the wrong man

Shocking that a person in jail for murder would claim his innocence. How convenient that he blames someone in jail for shooting at a cop. This guy is crazy and anyone who believes him should think twice about what this parolee is trying to sell to the public through the media.

I would say the same thing too; anything... to get out. After all he had 5 months to come up with this one...

He would also need solid evidence to prove his innocence, which will be very hard to do. You can't just talk, you gotta prove it.

He probably think that he do. He had time to get it to get it together with whoever.

Realitycheck I thought it was innocence until proven guilty. It doesn't appear that there is enough evidence to convict. I wonder what he was on probation for? Is that enough for probably cause? Five months is a long time to sit in jail without proof. Maybe he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and being out on parole and in Albany was cause enough. Either way five months is enough time to have collected the evidence needed to convict.

Glad your not on my jury, you do not need to prove your innocence, you are innocent until proven guilty!! In simple english, the court needs to prove this person did the murder until that time he is innocent and his case should move forward or be dismissed for lack of evidence.

He was already in violation of his parole[prison],not probation.

And for what...drugs.

Yeah, and how many black people live in Delhi?(I lived there so don't lie) So, please, don't pretend like you've even seen a black man in Delhi, let alone speak about diversity.

There have been plenty of men sent to death row on less evidence. Besdies, after the way the APD covered up the beating of that Saint Rose Basketball player in the 1990s, murdered David Scringe on Lark Street, I'd say they're capable of a whoel range of incompetance.

And what ahve you got in Delhi, Barney Fife?

This man is innocent and APD know it and so does the DA's office so now they need to figure out a way to make this public with out making them look like jerks so he sits in jail while they figure that out.....

This man is innocent until proven guilty, if they would have had any hard evidence he would have had his day in court, and been sent to prison already....

Because he was in violation of his probation that makes him a murderer?? Just saw a case very similiar to this on American Justice not long ago. Guy's in jail for murder, didn't do it. Guess where the murderer was??? In jail. There are some innocent people in jail of all ethnicities.

This reminds me of a guy I taght at Rens. County Jail a few years ago. African-American, with a previous record for drugs. He was up on a murder charge, kept saying he was innocent, no body believed him.

He was acquited of all charges.

I don't know about the guy in this article, but, yes, innocent people do go to jail, even in this area. SURPRISE!

try him or let him go.

No, they shouldn't do that, but they should give people thier day in court before putting in print that they are a murderer.

Just to clear up a few things,

I have no problem with diversity,in this case blacks.But do recognize proven statistics that show "diversity" in some groups can cause extreme problems.

I don't live in Delhi,NY,Texas or Canada as it shows sometimes.

I do know a little about Delhi though,and I'm not sure you really lived there.The village has a population of about 800 and is home to a SUNY campus of over 3,000 students,mainly from NYC.Ah' yes their is diversity in Delhi.A drive through main street on Friday night will prove it.No real crime though.

Injustice happens all the time,but only one group screams racism.This guy was already in violation of his parole,that was enough to lock him up.

This is a constitutional no-brainer: Right to a SPEEDY trial. The DA is admitting they have not got the right to hold the guy. So why is David Soares playing Dick Cheney Guantanamo games in Albany County? Time to send Soares packing!

This is the same DA's office that refuses to prosecute child abuse?
