Delaware County sewer workers drastically under piad.

Times can not be tougher for the Delaware regional sewer workers. With starting wages 20% lower than surrounding areas. Collection workers making under 14 per hour. Delaware county sewer director Chad Antle(who shot the elevation wrong on the Perry Taggart sewer line and got the wrong elevation and cost the county close to 1 million dollars) is receiving over 80,000 dollars a year. There are a bunch of good guys at the county who work there ass off only to be shut out in negotiations and talked down to by Mr Antle. Mean while the county dumped tens or millions of your dollars into the North Star sewer plant and the Lower Scioto sewer plant. The Lower Scioto plant is a multi million dollar plant thant has people in Concord township pissed as hell. Only if they knew that there is no in-fluent sewer force main even in the ground because the damn thing is sitting on rock. The plant is estimated to sit unused for 5 plus years. Millions of dollars of equipment that need to be ran but nothing to run it in. Mean while the county almost spent more on Attorneys for union negotiations than the amount needed to give the staff closer to a livable wage. I can name you several guys who work for the county who qualify for government assistance.
Way to go Mr Antle , Mr Cannon and the commissioners.

Send all the shit to Concord those Delaware County Republican dummies let the plant be built. If the sewer workers don't like their jobs they can quit. There are lots of folks who will gladly take those jobs at the current pay rate.

There is plenty of money in his budget that could be used. He also has excess employees who could be transferred to the sewer department to lighten your workload without having to increase pay.

If you like working in shit for 13.06 an hour. Most class 1 operators start out around 17.00-20.00 per hour. In Delaware County its 13.40 an hour. It should not be that way . These republicans brag about the county being one of the fastest growing and best in the mid west but yet they are in the stone age in paying their skilled employees. I used to work their and now I am out of their (thank the lord in heaven) and making allot more money. Dave Cannon and his wife has some really fishy going on with the developer at Lower Scioto waste water plant.Some of this equipment will go bad when it is needed 5 - 10 years from now. There is also problems with the staff. They are getting more and more miles of sewer line and pumps stations to look after yet officials told them the county had to preform certain duties and cleaning out the sewer lines of debris and gravel and they never did. The have about half the staff they should in the collections and maintenance department. Another thing interesting is that Hall and associates ( personal friends of Chad Antle) preformed work at the plants SCADA(computer system that monitors the plants) for 24,999 dollars. Under Ohio revised code any thing over 25,000 needs to have a open bid on it. I am wondering if he is getting kick backs.

Thank God I am not their any more. I just can not stand the dirty play of these directors and commissioners. Even though I hate the people who run it I pray for them and hope they see what other areas are doing and try to be comparable. But hat will never happen. Allot of young guys their will
never have a good salary or even one that would break the poverty line. No wage scale to move up at all. SO basically they are stuck at what they are making and if they get the 1,2,or 3% raises that will still be less than inflation on the dollar.

Why should these guys quit. It should be a fair work place. I did quit. Maybe you do want a bunch of people who hate their job and are totally un motivated. Remember that when you get you next big rain and the I&I stay out of your basement. Or you are able to flush your toilet in a power outage. Like when you had the huge wind storm back in last September. Antle fought with Human Resources to have the calamity day pay jerked away from the sewer crew even though the rest of the county was off work for no power. You have guys running generators all over the place for going days with out sleep. That happened year after I left. Way to go. Good hard work guys . Way to screw your boys over who worked for 48 strait hours.

I did . Did you not hear me. I feel horrible for the guys still there and they have no future there. I figured the public would care but I guess they dont. When Varner was here it was a great place. First things first. I beleive the employees there are in a union, they get to negotiate their wage. Most people to not get this advantage. Second of all, did they tell you that they get a 1/2 paid lunch and two 15 minute paid breaks. Not a bad gig to get paid for 8 hours a day and actually only work 7. I wish I had it so easy. Then lets look at what they are required to do, you say work the butts off? I am sure some do, but what about the guys that don't? DCD if you actually did work there - you know who they are (MM).

Contract, not a problem in deadbeat county make the right contribution to the right prosecutor and commissioner and your contract is a done deal, lickety-split.
