Here we go again: "Rojas, an assistant professor of modern foreign languages, said he thinks he was targeted unfairly because of his ethnicity. But officers who responded that night said they were not given a description of the person inside the building, only that a second-floor office light was on and someone was spotted inside, said Capt. Bruce Pijanowski of the Delaware Police Department."

Gosh, minority college students are going to hold a protest rally? In other news, bear scat was found in the woods and the Pope went to mass.

This is unfortunate and ridiculous. They are going to cause the police depaartment to not assist the school at all. Then no one will be protected! Even the minorities from true hate crimes!

Gee, isn't this awful? What about the young black man that spent 18 months in county lockup, accused of killing his brother? He went through a trial that could have locked him up for life. He just wants to be re-paid for his ordeal. No protest march. This guy wants a protest rally because in this case, the police were doing thier jobs. Let's look at it this way: In the event his home was broken into, his family assaulted, he would say the police didn't do thier job in that case as well. Since he feels he is being singled out, he should seek safe haven, and go back where he came from. Why would he want to stay in such a hostile atmosphere that the USA, Ohio, and the city of Delaware subject him to? Why did he come here in the first place? Go back where you came from, Professor Rojas.

The whole incident could have been avoided if Professor Rojas was wearing a university ID. Many organizations require employees to wear ID badges for security reasons. It would seem to me that Professor Rojas would be grateful that the police were defending his office.

Just another misplaced liberal immigrant who thinks this country owes him something because he is here.

Jimmy, did you get up on the wrong side of the bed, You made some sense. I'm glad most immigrants like my grandfather did not whine like this when he was picked on for having an accent. We would have never grown to be a superpower.

I don't believe for minute Delaware Police Chief Bruce Pijanowski that there was breaking and entering by a suspect. Ohio Wesleyan University is known for being hostile and racist towards minority students.

I am so sick of hearing about this crap. Everyone who is not white thinks they are "owed" something. Go ahead and rally, fools.

I do NOT buy it. There is absolutely nothing that cries racism here. Maybe the rest of the student body, staff and faculty should march AGAINST FALSE ACCUSATIONS OF RACISM. The police and security should be commended.

He should have thanked the officer for his prompt response and apologized profusely for creating confusion by not having his required university I.D. on his person.

Doesn't matter who he was - race, color or creed. If it had been a white male in his mid-40's in suit and tie, he would have been handcuffed until he was identified. Lighten up and quit looking for excuses to plan "protest marches". Find something better to do, students, unless of course, you are all carrying 4.0 GPA's.

How about making it required to check in and out with Campus Public Safety if they are there after hours. How hard is it to pick up the phone to check in/out? How difficult is it to attach an ID to your shirt? Instead of complaining, they should be complimenting the campus public safety for being alert and doing their jobs. Same to the Delaware PD. These are just a bunch of racists that were looking for an excuse and they found one. I want to go down there and rain on their "march". At my work, we have inadequate procedures for after hours employees. The landlord/management refuses to enforce rules and fines and instead, Security Officers look like fools for trying to enforce the policy like they are told and the landlord/management doesnt back them up. The tenant employees refuse to follow procedures to ensure a secure environment. As a little side note, there is no reason why campus public safety should not have a means of defense. As a person in the security industry, I am tired of these warm body, observe and report operations. I remember back in the day where you used to see armed security officers everywhere. Now, the are scarce. Campus Security is unarmed. Security at malls are unarmed. Many security officers are active or retired law enforcement or military. They do have weapons training. Did OWU forget about the campus shootings in the past? You dont need to be a commissioned peace officer to be an armed guard. There is nothing wrong with calling the police, but while they are minutes away when seconds count, an armed, well trained security officer could already make an apprehension until the PD arrives to arrest. Anyhow, kudos to the Security staff and DPD. Shame on Mr. Rojas and his supporters. Making a big deal over nothing.
