In his defense, it has to be hard to spend all day pushing people around and ignoring them, and then go home and turn it off. By all accounts, his wife is a very nice person, I hope she leaves him

Yes, many people lead stressful lives. However, NOT everybody walks around with a gun when they are having an "emotional argument" with their spouse! Let's hope there is no "next time."

Wow...what a just justice system. Had this been the average guy with that sorry explanation he would be in the county jail telling his story. And to further the hypocrisy if the woman did not charge him the state has the right to step in and do it. But because these are our elected officials, who grant themselves raises, health care, automatic pensions...they are now above the law.....Oh thats right they made them Hmmmm.

most people the state would have picked up the charges and if she didn't want to press them then they would file charges on her for waisting time and doing a 911 hangup. I guess this will be another double standard

Glad to see him and his buddies got all those union thugs in line, so real family values can flourish.

Guess he is lucky that those lazy good for nothing union cops got there in time to save his sorry butt from doing something stupid to himself or her. Must be a tough life making a six figure income and having to go sit and cast votes. Glad he could get off work after all that hard voting, go to the new bar at the state house and toss back a few drinks and relax before going home to freak out the wife.

if you would charge someone else for the same crime, then yes he should be charged. Too late to say it was a mistake calling 911

The sheriff had better press charges......if it was some other couple not in public office that would of had him in handcuffs. The unfortunate thing it has obviously happened before. Melissa is either being controlled or in denial.

Anytime someone feels threatened, there should be a safe way to
neutralize the threat. I hope this is not the beginning of a major event
that causes anyone harm

Wow, a Senator who is a closet drunk that beats his wife and may even threaten or scare her with guns. What a loser. He should be mandated to weekly therapy at minimum; how about some accountability for our elected official?

He's been a self-rightous **** for a long time. We've seen his stripes before but this is sick. SICK. A drunken idiot pushing around his nasty wife. God bless them both. They should both resign and stop collecting our tax dollars while they work out their problems. They have NO business devising rules and regulations under which the rest of us must live. Politicians must be held to higher standards and the higher the office, the higher the standards. We will be disappointed if the Sheriff does not pursue SERIOUS charges against Sen Jordan, the wife beater from Liberty Twp.
