1 inmate dead, 16 injured in Delano prison riot

My Brother was stabbed multiple times on fathers day! Only if the cos that where there would have done there job!! Why are they apologizing when they should have done there job!! This was a setup!! My brother was all alone!! So I know how you feel helpless!! Isu needs to investigate but I'm sure they wld cover there tracks some how but my brother is not a RAT!! So he wnt say what happen unfortunatelly this happen at Corcoran Maximum S Ya Right!!

the staff can only do so much. understand that they are working understaff. those inmates are thier for a reason because they couldnt respect the laws in the community.

they need to get a program started like i seen on t.v. were the inmates train dogs for guys from the war i feel so bad when i here about then killing each other and i use to live right behind them i am glad i moved away

That prison has been open for more then 4yrs and they still can not get any programs up and running so that all the inmates can have something positive to look forward too upon there release date. A good training of some sort and a education while they are in there can really make a diffrence for the inmates that do want to stay out of trouble. If the warden or state would do something to rehabilitate these human beings that really just want to do there time and stay out of trouble then there energy maybe wouldn't be towards getting there hands full of innocent blood!!!!!!!!

im sorry for whatever happened to them but .. well their in prison .. what do u expect ..
plus their in there for one reason or another.. not for being good citizens..

Yes the inmates are there but some are innocent and in the end i believe that that bullshit because i think for this case it was planned it was a setup.Com mon sense were not stupid the law sticks together to stick them! Most of the CO's are dirty. If an imate gets injured for any reason they will contact you right??

Hello Jackie that is very inmoral that our justice system has stooped so low, and the real taxpayers have to pay for it, and probably more than half of the hundred people in prison should not even be there, a waste of money instead of putting the money to use in our school systems and educating our children better we are putting the money in the prisons were some people should not even be....em

When PEOPLE LIVE and WORK in facilities that are UNSAFE, UNHEALTHY,UNPRODUCTIVE,or INHUMANE, THEY CARRY THE EFFECTS HOME WITH THEM.

WE MUST create SAFE and PRODUCTIVE conditions of confinement....NOT ONLY BECAUSE IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO, but because it INFLUENCES the SAFETY, HEALTH, AND PROSPERITY OF US ALL.

Being in a cell is the worst feeling. After every inmate there’s a family that loves and cares for them. Its complicated living that life, because if u fall everyone else that’s next to you gets hurt and suffers with you. Gangs, drugs, it all falls under the same category and in the end it leads to worst scenarios, you are who you surround your self with if you are a weak person of being. Once you get in that game its hard to get out!Its like a one way ticket out!And its so hard to figure out! Like an addiction the streets are calling and you keep falliN! but if you really want a change of lifestyle then anything is possible. But its not easy people that are set free from the systema most of them go back to the same dilemma and it’s a repetition a rutina. It’s like a wound it hurts in the beginning but when it heels you don’t remember the pain that you had to go through. The people in jails, in gangs, drug-dealers, prostitutes, drug and alcohol addicts ARE NOT BAD PEOPLE! You have to remember that along their life there had to be a past a history and the environment they were raised in and cultured in. SO IT’S NOT THERE FAULT! So there’s no reason in seeing them as a lesser value because in the end were all the same! It’s never too late for a change if there’s a will there’s a way!!AND I STILL HAVE HOPE BECAUSE THERE IS STILL PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT AREN'T SO NEGATIVE ABOUT LIFE REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY'VE BEEN THROUGH. SO BEFORE YOU TURN AROUND AND JUDGE MAKE SURE YOUR HANDS ARE CLEAN.

Oh I agree with you immensely!!!!! My boyfriend is at Kern/Delano and was just minding his own biz when the riot broke out...so of course he had to defend himself so now he is in the Hole, has a broken finger and a broken hand...still even hasn't had a cast put on yet!!! also, because of this that he did not start and didn't want to get involved he is also going to get more time tacked on to his sentance! Kern does NOT have any Vocational Training programs, nothing....therefore the inmates have nothing to look forward to so they get frustrated and fight.....there Medical is also horrible, my BF has had HORRIBLE back problems and needs PROPER outside medical attention/surgery and he cant even get that....they are setting him up for failure..when he does get out most likely he will be in a wheel chair with no vocational skills.....no wonder there are overcrowded prisons....because the released inmate ends up committing another crime when they are "out" (they have no skills)and then go back in prison......also, he doesn't even receive my letters on a timely basis (and others too)I had sent him a Q2 pkg and it took Kern/Delano staff to finally deliver it to him in 2+ months!!!! That is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!! We all should try and do something about this......

Understandable, however why should the "non-violent" inmates have to be at a Level Four facility??? Because of overcrowding!!!Waste of taxpayers money and they should just parole them out early or have them under house arrest.......I am sure you haven't lived a pure and saintly life.........

On july 3,2007 The father to my two little boys was found dead in his cell from un natural causes is this excusable that i can still not pick up his property until the investigation is over how many years this is cruelty injustice and where do i go from here iam depress i feel also asaulted my man was killed on his birthday in prison sentence to do his time and walk a free man when its served my joe and others had given a right to live in this world just like everyone here but inmates really dont have rights or their familys no justice for all

My son was just sent to Delano on 10/9/09. Can anyone tell me anything about this prison. I would really appreciate it.
