Judge overturns California's ban on same-sex marriage

A federal judge in California has knocked down the state's voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage, ruling Wednesday that the state's controversial Proposition 8 violates the U.S. Constitution.

Religion didn't teach them that; the LGBT did.
The hard, religious right is their own devil. No one pushes people away from religion in this country more than them and their c*nty attitude towards things, as exhibited in your post.

Are you retarded, or are the lights just that dim inside the closet you're probably hiding in? You can't see this for what it is? The religious right in the U.S. is a joke, as far as the developed world is concerned. What message do you think it sends people that you couldn't get a few thousand Americans to buy food to feed the hungry, but could get nearly a million of them to buy fried slop so they themselves can be fat sows? Oh no. Forget the bankers that helped make my country into one of the biggest debter nations on Earth. Let's go after the gays buy getting type 2, and losing our toes in 5 years. Yeah. That'll show 'em who's boss. LOL. Please. The only place Christianity is growing is in Africa, and those poor saps will believe in anything for a meal and place to stay.

Does anyone else find it ironic that hundreds of thousands of Christians think the best way to bully gays is by eating vast amounts of c*ck? If there is a god, he or she is one funny mofo.

And you of course define "the hard religious right" as churches who do not support homosexuality. You reject these churches for no other reason.

Therefore, since there is no traditional religion we know of that can condone homosexuality without rejecting its core values, homosexuality and religion (traditional) cannot co-exist.

Do you at least agree with this?

Nice magic trick, pulling "facts" mysteriously out of your ass like that. Is that how drag queens, back in the day, entertained their guests at parties and you picked it up along your "travels"? Anyway, I don't reject all these churches. Some of them consist of nice people that suffer under cognitive dissonance, but that doesn't change the fact that most of these people take the Bible literally and actually believe that the Earth is 5,000 years old and that a shabby-looking, white guy made the Universe only so he could focus on one blue pebble which houses one, unremarkable species. That belief system, to anyone who breaks it down with logic, is hilarious and thus a joke. The hilarity just builds up as you watch these people work from their off-base conclusions. Hard-line Christianity, for anyone that appreciates comedic irony, is the heavyweight champ of running gags.

Did the chia pet seeds, that line your head, finally root themselves through your cerebral cortex? Homosexuality doesn't have any core values, Mr. Baggins. It's not like these people pray to San Fran five times a day. It's not like they send in their applications to their local A&F, and then get back a membership card, meeting times, and instructions on how to do the super-de-duper secret, gay handshake. It's either you like d*ck or not. It's either you like sn*tch or not. It's neutral. The fact that you think it isn't shows me that all that foil in your head isn't just for managing those nasty highlights of yours. Also, "traditional"? What does that even mean? A lot of different religions are okay with gay people. The only hold-outs are some forms of Christianity, Islam, and Scientology. They’ll be irrelevant soon enough. There’s only so long these people can cling to how gay people are werewolves and how Jesus hid dinosaur bones in the dirt to test people’s faith.

One of the core values of every major religion we know of is that homosexuality is an abomination before God. You keep identifying this precept as that of only "hard-line" religion, but that's deception on your part.

I won't bother to present the tens of admonitions against homosexuality from both the Bible.

You need to stop misleading everyone and admit that homosexuality and the Bible cannot co-exist.

Once again the Bible expressly prohibits homosexuality, so unless you're talking about a church or denomination that doesn't follow the Bible you're engaging in disinformation.

ASV:(American Standard Version, 1901) "And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

Darby:(J.N. Darby Translation, 1890): "And if a man lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall certainly be put to death; their blood is upon them."

ESV:(English Standard Version): "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them."

HNV:(Hebrew Names Version): "If a man lies with a male, as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

KJV:(King James Version): "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them."

WRONG! Geez, pal. Do some research BEFORE you post stupid shit.

One of the top ten "rules" is thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. So which is it? Are you a liar, or merely stupid?

Besides, religion is irrelevant to this discussion. Prop 8 goes down in flames in a few months and you are powerless to stop it.

Yes, yes, Christians all follow Leviticus to the letter, and that women should keep to the home and not place themselves on the same level with men, we know.

But our Constitution protects us from being forced to live under the irrational religious interpretations of others.

Thank God.

Not only don't I hate gays, I've always written there is nothing wrong with homosexuals or homosexuality.

This comment:
"We criminalized bigamy to stop polygamy; maybe we should criminalize same sex marriage."

I don't see how we have any other choice after an unelected judge voided the law and the will of the people of California. BTW, same sex marriage isn't the same as sodomy.

That makes about as much sense as "not supporting" brown hair, small noses, and anyone taller than 6 feet.

There is no "core value" with regards to any natural and God-given traits, like height, skin color or sexual orientation. You can pretend otherwise, and make up silly religious cannon to defend your silliness, but that doesn't make it any less silly.

And it is the job of the government to make sue that nut-cases who believe differently aren't allowed to harm other tax-paying citizens for something that is natural, and doesn't affect anyone who does not share the trait.

Again it's only gay MEN that scare you. And you reach for the most unlikely stereotypes to "prove" your points.

Why do that?

You know it's absurd.

For the one gay man dressed like a fool in a single parade, there are ten women flashing bare breasts at mardi gras, and a million women sporting string bikinis and thongs in public.

And I suspect the percentage of gay men who frequent "bath houses" is similar to the percentage of swinging straight married couples.

If you can't make a logical point, why bother? Is your odd obsession will all things gay so overpowering that ANY attention is seen as good attention?
