I use maybelline Dream Airfoam nd I've learned that less i use the better it looks I top it off w a lil bit of powder in the same color as my foundation nd voila great results. If you pack it on its going to look thick and start looking fake, less is more. Good luck

Your foundation is probably too thick/heavy.Exfoliate your skin regularly. I like to use Brown Sugar.Makes a HUGE difference. Start off with your moisturizer. I like to use Obagi. Then do a primer. My personal favorite is the one from MAC. Let primer sit for about 5 minutes, then apply foundation. You don't need much foundation when you use primer. It makes your face feel like a baby's bottom! Try a foundation that is not too heavy, and apply foundation with a sponge or brush. It does apply better with a brush. And apply it going outward, from nose to ear.Estee Lauder has awesome foundation and powder. When you apply powder, use a brush, it goes on smoother. Hope this helps. Just like the previous comment says...LESS IS MORE.:)

Thanks for all the help :) I have never moisturized so maybe that's the problem :( and I use a liquid foundation maybe I should try a mousse one? Do I have to put powder too? Or will it be ok with just foundation?

first put in like some lotion so your face can be a lil greecy and not dry then put on the foundation with the foundation brush then of you use any type of corrector put it where you need it I personally dont use the corrector right after my foundation I put on my power and after that since the bottom of my eyes are dark I use a lighter loose powder and put it on or I just get like the creamy color white and so the same and your face looks beautiful with the face iluminator that maybelline one is nice or the new covergirl one id rathet use the maybelline but I like Loreal both the foundation and powder idk why I dont like MAC it makes other girls faces look so thick id rathet stick to this one but yea just put on some lotion or spmething so your face isnt dry when you put on the foundation and use a foundation brush :)

You can't put all the blame on the make up, cuz if you got a busted up face where you need that much where it looks dry. It's pretty much your own fault, start using sunscreen during the day, and your skin will clear up a ton, also exercise helps alot ^_^

My skin use to always look dry around my chin before I started using a good moisturizer. I have always used powder after foundation. Try it both ways and see what you like better. These are my makeup application steps: 1.Obagi Moisturizer 2. MAC primer 3.Eye makeup (except Mascara) 4. Estee Lauder Foundation 5. Estee Lauder Highlighter for under eyes 6. MAC Blush (Margin) 7. Estee Lauder Pressed Powder 8. MAC Shimmer on cheek bones 9. Mascara 10.Mentha Lip Tint-Pink Mint (Bath & Body Works) or Slice of Heaven lip gloss from Victorias Secret. And when I'm all done, I wash my hands, pat them dry with a wash cloth, then pat my face with the wash cloth, LIGHTLY, and it sets my makeup. I know that might sound weird, but it takes away the "powdery" look. I know there are some kind of finishing sprays, but a lightly damp cloth works for me. Well there's my makeup life story. LOL. Have fun experimenting with your makeup and see what works for you.

Oh, one more thing. Moisturizer with SUNSCREEN is very important. I use SPF 35.

My skin is dry sometimes and other times oily. I don't have a horrible face the only reason I want to wear foundation and only foundation is because my face turns red outdoors ... But thank you :)

hey girl i use moisturizer first its from clinique or the fix + from mac and then put primer under my bags just to lighten it up then i put my powder foundation from mac and lastly i put the fix + all over my face again after i have all my make up done including eyes and everything. the fix + is a spray that is used so your powdered makeup doesn't seem to cakey and dry. also try using blush thats not powder. Hope this helps:)

i got my moisturizer at clinique they ask you if your face is too dry or too oily so if its dry it helps it be not to dry and if its oily it helps it get drier and not oily. and a primer you put it on before your concealer. the primer helps your makeup stay in place.
