What a shame for such a young person. He will probably get the help he needs in prison. Luckily, society is safe from this person due to his sentence. Such a terrible thing to hear about.

What is terrible is the journalism and the justice system in this country. There is absolutely no investigative speculation at all. Just the reporting of half-truths and fallacious arguments. We should just let the police write the articles and fire all of the "journalist." For instance, the witness that reported to police that they saw who it was and could absolutely pick him out of a line-up in the end failed to pick him out of a line-up. The fact that he had literature on serial killing in his room so he must be a serial killer is a very bad argument. Only one news agency had an actual psychologist offer his expert opinion that the fact that he had this literature does not in any way prove that he is or was ever an aspiring serial killer. Maybe we should ban those types of books from Barnes and Noble or no better yet lets keep a list of people that buy them so that when someone is murdered the police can search the database and find the murderer. It would cut done on the cost of investigations. Where is McCarthy when you need him. I have the Communist Manifesto on my book shelf so there for I must be a communist. I love the fact that every news report however mentions that he had literature on serial killing. Did he have gun shot residue on him? Well according to the police when they questioned his grandparents he did, but in fact he did not. The police decided to lie to his grandparents in order to extort any incriminating evidence they could. This is very troubling to me because who then decides when they are lying. When the police get up on the stand are they telling the truth now or before? Where is the murder weapon? The police do not have it. What other evidence? Well there was reported that a shoe print found at the scene was "similar" to the shoes that the suspect was wearing. I am glad that we are basing our damnation of another person on a similarity. It will make me feel better when I am picked up for armed robbery because I drive a black Civic and the person that committed the crime was driving a car that was similar - a green Civic. I am sorry similar is not good enough. Well how can a journalist report that the police have the wrong guy, what about the family? What about the truth? I mean no disrespect to the victim's family and I cannot even imagine what they have went through. Well isn't all of this a mute point seeing that he plead guilty? Did anyone ever for a second think that maybe a person pleads guilty for other reasons? Maybe he felt that he could not prove himself innocent. If you did not catch the backwards logic in that it only further supports the argument that I am trying to make.(Clue: You are innocent until proven guilty in America- supposedly.) However, the reality is that the news agencies and the police declare you guilty before they even have all of the evidence or a trial. Could the fact that he " ...did not explain his actions..." mean that maybe he could not because he did not do it? "I'm not that type of person. I still can't figure out why." These are not the words of a serial killer nor a murderer. Maybe he was just lying to get a better sentence - well it didn't work. If we are going down that road then maybe the police lied or fabricated evidence? Oh wait, the police did lie already. My point is this. We are not concerned in this society about finding something that is called the "truth." Nor do we have the capacity to question or use any form of logic to ascertain the truth for ourselves. We are simply sitting around and eating mind numbing spoonful after spoonful of crap that it feed to us by our modern day media. Wake up.
