Mother's memory leads daughter to succeed in college

I had the pleasure of working with Maria on a project this year. She truly is a remarkable and fearless young woman. I know she will continue to succeed and do great things with her life. Maria exemplifies the Stetson student and spirit. It's not all spoiled rich kids at Stetson. Many students are like Maria and work hard to attain their education. She is AMAZING!
I met Maria for the first time personaly last springbreak when she came to visit with my son in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. She was a joy, always positive and happy and always ready to help others. I myself just lost a sister(45) to breastcancer in 2006 so I know what she must have been thru as a kid.Indeed an amazing girl after all she has been thru to still have such strenght to put her self thru college. Maria you are super.

my name is Betty and i live in new york. Maria Forlivio's Mom AnnaMaria is my first cousin. Everything you wrote in your article abot Maria is true. She is an amazing young woman. i watched her grow up and even as a baby she was always determined to get what she wanted. Her Mom loved her so much and wanted the best for her and her sister Elena. Maria i am so proud of you and i know your Mom is too. Always stay strong and wonderful as you are. i love you so much............

I am beyond impressed with this young lady. Her ability is the magnitude of Saints. I believe we all will hear even greater things that she will do than what she has already done. God Bless her for the love and hope she gives to the world of pessimists that we live in.

I want to thank all of you for your kind words and support. Things were hard initially but with the love and support of my friend, extended family and the community I am pushing forward. I plan on starting Stetson Law school in August (I got approved for the full amount in loans, expensive but worth it in the end I believe) and really do believe that what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger. Thank you all so much!
