Has anyone else noticed that Daytona Beach is becoming a world-class sh*thole? Seems like this police chief is on the news every morning talking about the latest heinous crime. Every news story coming out of that town lately has been crime related. Not the kind of place I want to be visiting with my family...

You are absolutely right. I have said it (many times) before and I will say it again, the Daytona Beach City Planners/Commission would have been tarred and feathered in Days of Olde. There is simply no excuse for failing a town that has such great potential so miserably. It obviously takes a lot of really hard work to be such monumental. categorical failures across the board. This is what happens when the entire future of a society is wagered on a passing fad like NASCAR. MORONS! Fire them all and let them try to find real work in the Daytona Beach job market they created!!

The last two comments are from people that dont even live in this area. This Police Chief has made a massive change since he took over. The crime rate has dropped, the homeless and street people have been sent home or to shelters. The beachside is cleaner than its ever been. And for Ormond Beach, thats the worst city to ever live in. Before you down a City which you dont even live in, look at your own city. Ormond Beach is CORRUPTION from its lowest City Leader all the way to the stop. That I know for a fact since I use to live in Ormond Beach and moved because of it.

By "this area" did you mean Winter Springs, or Daytona Beach? If you meant Daytona Beach I suggest you go consult a map. Go ahead, I will wait......

You moved because of the corruption in Ormond Beach? Good for you! The obvious question everyone is thinking right now is, as you are such a fan- why didn't you move to Daytona Beach? OH THAT'S RIGHT: no jobs, ever increasing violent crime rates, complete elimination of the middle class, unrealistic high taxes, a city commission that couldn't find Daytona Beach on the map if you gave them a step-by-step tutorial. I could go on and on but I actually HAVE work because I don't live in Daytona!

You say Beachside has never been cleaner? When exactly did you leave the area? Have you had your eyes checked lately? Seen a psychiatrist? Perhaps you were blinded by the wall-to-wall condos blotting out the sky? The homeless and street people have been sent home or to shelters? Chris, Chris, Chris- I won't go too much into the idiocy of "the homeless have been sent home" comment but there are more homeless and street people in Daytona than in most 'tent cities'. The crime rate has dropped? Next time use current statistics, not those from 1959.

The Daytona Beach City Manager and Commission have failed the businesses and residents of their city to gargantuan proportions. No one can argue that. Or was it my comment regarding NASCAR that upset you so greatly? Hmm... Thou doth protest too much indeed!

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Taurus

Keep calm! Your emotions are becoming increasingly heightened and intense today. As a result, you're likely to take things much more seriously than usual. That's wonderful if you're involved in a hot and heavy encounter with Mr or Ms Right, but it won't be such good news if you go overboard about silly trifles. If you're doing some last-minute shopping you'll want to be as extravagant as your budget allows. Or is it a case of Budget...? What budget?
