Taxpayers/Customers of the local Del Rio hospital, do you all think it's right that Board Members' families have been hired for positions of leadership within the very same hospital they oversee?

Totally disgusting! Who are these "board members" with family at the hospital and who are they selected by? Someone contact Troubleshooters.

And the woman who screamed bloody murder at the school board for its nepotism sits on the hospital board. Nepotism was happening under her nose and she didn't stop it.

It is sad when a position is filled that apparently was never posted.'They' talk about making the hospital better. Making up positions with high pay and filling with friends and family
does not make me happy as a tax payer. More of us need to vote and change the board.

So if the Shannon clinic sells to vvrmc at the end of the year as it said in the paper, who will be hired to run it? I bet I can guess who it will be. Typical BS! Here you go son, you did a good job runng the other clinic. You deserve it. Here's a raise for you also. Shhhh.... Don't tell anyone.

No, I happen to know that this is this kid's first REAL job. He's all of 22 years old and has no advanced degrees or any experience that would remotely qualify him for the position he was given. If that isn't nepostism and greed at its best, I don't know what is.

Nepotism at it's best. We need Dr. Keenan on the board, he will clean house of the people that don't deserve their current job position.

I'm sure Dr. Keenen would be great on the board, but I keep hearing rumors that he's leaving Del Rio. All the good docs leave this town...

I agree with you in everything. Leigh Ann Qualia does not have a college Degree. How can you become a Director in a department without a college degree. There is another employee that was give a job thanks to its wife Cherryl Weathersbee. He's name is Martin Weathersbee and they never posted the position for other people to apply.

Adrian Larson, is the "Sr. Director of Outpatient Services" and the son of Frank Larson, President of the "Hospital Board of Directors". Adrian Larson had no experience managing an outpatient medical clinic prior to taking over operations, but was given job anyway. How much of the tax payers money is Adrian Larson mismanaging.
Francine Pina, is the "Vice President of Community Service and Hospitality" and wife of W. Jonathan Piña, Secretary of the "Hospital Board of Directors". Is she qualified for her current position. If she was plucked from her current job, would another equal sized corporation hire her. Her prior work experience is a  Assistant Vice President of Product Management at regional credit union. What did that position do at the bank, hand out stuffed animals for opening checking account or count how many frying pans were given out for starting a savings account?
Leigh Ann Qualia, is the new "Director of Human Resources" and related to Charlie Qualia, member of the VVRMC Corporate Board. Leigh Ann had no experience as human resources director prior to taking over operations, but was given job anyway. The last job she had was  Assitant Manager at Chili's. The position was never posted so that a qualified candidate could be hired. Now the human resources is headed up by someone who's last job required her top concern to be "how was your meal?". 
These individuals received their current positions after their respective family members were elected to the board. What happened to the the anti-nepotism agreement that these elected officials are bound by. As a tax payor, I am appalled that this is allowed to continue. The positions of leadership at the hospital should be filled with qualified individuals.
Lets call it how it is, stop the gross nepotism, and start hiring people that are qualified!

The hospital is accruing quite the running list of unqualified employees that are related to board members. I am sure it won't be long before Raul Alatorre is using his position to get someone an overpaid, made up position managing something. It's like lying; one lie begets another. The hospital administration has been allowed to deceive the community and it's own employees for far too long. Human Resources (HR) should be posting positions publicly and vetting the most qualified applicants to go before an interview board. However, the standard has been set; as long as you are related to the right person, you can get any job within the hospital. The hospital administration has let their priorities become dictated and ruled by the boards. The CEO Marc Strode has taken to hanging out with Adrian Larson, Frank Larson's (chairman of the board) son, and putting that before his duties and obligations. Marc Strode didn't show up to relay for life, even though he said he would. Marc Strode didn't come in to deliver pizza to the night shift nurses for employee appreciation, even though he said he would. On one occasion he was playing poker with Adrian Larson at Adrian's house while getting too drunk to drive. Another time he was again drinking with Adrian at the bowling alley. Poor excuses for missing events you obligated yourself to attend. Also, and more importantly, what a gross and inappropriate conflict of interests. Should the CEO be "hanging out" with the son of the chairman of the board? NO! Just as the son of the chairman of the board should not be allowed to manage, and then run into the ground, the outpatient clinics. Now that Leigh Ann Qualia is the head of HR, the board has a direct line to getting it's relatives and friends hired at VVRMC. Mismanagement is unavoidable when nepotism guides the choices of those in positions of leadership.

It is worse than I thought. Very sad for the citizens of Val Verde County. All the varied facilities, from where is all the money being aquired???
