Okeeey< What wrong with this PICTURE!
Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Community Oriented Policing Services, or COPS, office solicited applications from law enforcement agencies across the country for $1 billion in stimulus grants.
The COPS Hiring Recovery Program (CHRP) grants were advertised as being intended to help both large and small police departments hire new officers.
Tulsa, with $3.5 million, will be able to hire 18 new police officers.
~~ Excuse Me But Didn't they hire 7 New Police Officers, Earlier this year ~ NOT 18 And DIDN'T TULSA JUST LET THOSE NEW BE OFFICERS GO~~~- WHATS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE, AND SIENSE THE OFFICERS ARE NOT OFFICERS ANY MORE -~~~ WHERES THE 3.5 MILLION DOLLARS AT ~~~~ SOMEONE'S POCKET~~~? Another thig wrong here is ALLLl Police agenceys in the state should have had a peice of that pie, Not just a few.
Again Where's the Money - Where's the Officers.

The CHRP grants were passed to the States to distribute the grants to local law enforcement agencies. What happened at the State level?

Isn't the Choctaw Nation a part of the Indians of Oklahoma? Aren't they funded by Federal money as well as their auto tags. Don't they have casinos or they could have if they wanted to. Why should they even want part of the stimulus moneys?

Maybe the smaller towns should use some of their speed trap cash to hire a new officer - seems like they can fund as many traffic cops as they need, but when it comes time to focus some of those resources to day to day police work - all of the sudden everyone is broke - besides, if it takes 117K to hire one officer, man...someone is paying their house off with the rest...

Why is Broken Bow & Owasso upset that they didn't get any money? Logically, the communities with the highest crime rate and lowest budget were given the assistance. Why would Owasso need money?? The city council is diverting money to private developers and to fund special interest projects. Obviously, they're flush with cash. Everybody wants free ice cream from government. Alternatively, they can just increase the taxes on the citizens...cause they can afford it.

You Know, Obama, Went about this so called Stimulus packages all wrong.
If he wanted to Jump start the economy.
Instead of handing out these so called Stimulus packages to the Car industry, And the Bankers,{ Which are shuffling these so called moneys around into Pockets of the all ready rich.}{ Which is what is most likely being done in Tulsa, Due to no Officers, and where's the money syndrome }
If he wanted to stimulate the economy, then he should have given every one who legally possess a valid Social Security Number,$20,-$30,000, Man Woman Child. A Family, Could have Maybe Combined their Stimulus Checks, Maybe Not have Lost their Homes, Maybe Have Bought that New Car they Really Needed, Or even Fixed their Homes that Needed Repair, We the People would have been more apt to use that kind of money to good, than to Miss appropriate it. But No, people in politics, don't think of we the people, and helping US. They are more bent in taking our Moneys, And giving it to the rich, and taking ours to boot, and financing their so called purposely man made mistakes. The Car industry shuffled moneys around, As well as the Bankers, Tulsa is no Different, Monkey see Monkey Do! And we the People are paying the Price!!!
Again: Whers the Officers, And or Wheres the Money?

Look Idiot - its obvious that you don't understand the issue - even if you THINK you can read - There is no debate regard the 117 or 114 or whatever amount over the three years - but in the rural areas most basic patrol officers make 25 to 30K a year which leaves a lot of slush fund money for somebody to siphon off - and don't kid yourself into believing that this doesn't happen on a regular basis - Maybe the city slick'in cops make 40K a year but out here in the sticks they do not...

I think people need to look at this another way. It will make you go HMMM?!? They are using loopholes and legalized theft to obtain the money. They took the cash that we were supposed to get more officers with, acted as if they had to fire those cops, used the grant money to hire them back and kept the cash we would have been able to pay them anyway. All it boils down to is.. they got all the money and we got no new officers. We have the same number, the city doesn't have to pay them but we get screwed in the long run. Who do you think pays for all this stimilus money in the end? How about that for a mind blowing, politcal shuffle? These see to be common practice in the industry. Start watching and see

Clarity: Bingo!! Legalised Money Laundering,Legalised Money Trafficking, Always using Legal loopholes Like always, to Shuffle, Moneys into someones, Several Someones Pocket's. Why there's loopholes for their Loopholes, But you can best bet one thing, they don't have holes in their pockets.
All of these politicians EVERYWHERE have been loopholing our moneys for Decades, And we like dummies have been setting back and letting them get away with it.
Look At Mr. Gore there, always preaching Going green,- Changing your light bulbs, Save energy, Global Warming, Do you know how much his Power bill is every month,$27,000.00 - A Month. While we the People have to scrimp and Save just to pay what bills we have, OOOooo And that's just his light bill, WOW!!! Believe me if I have to conserve any more energy, I might as well shut the power off totally, hook up a generated bike to this puter, for power to operate it, Hey At least the 15 minutes that im on here, I'll be getting exercise, above what I all ready do, working around my house inside and out, putting in 10 hour shifts on my feet, getting half of what is owed me due to Taxes, with which to Now Pay for a Stimulus Package, that Only Certain Few are getting Shuffled around to pockets, that weren't on the agenda to receive.... WOW!

Look, the simple reason that all the officers went to the bigger agencies are because that is where the votes are. Then to slap the rest of the smaller agencies even further, Fuhrer Taylor laid off the officers so she could manipulate the system even further and sign Tulsa up for the Government bailout, she learned that one from her friends at AIG and in Detroit. Our national legislators could care less for Jenks, Owasso, Glenpool, BA, or the other smaller communities because all put together they don't tally the votes they get in Tulsa. It is a shame really because number for number Tulsa has more officers per capita than any other agency in Tulsa County.

Tulsa got the bigest piece of the pie and they have a democratic mayor who supported Obama for president. Mayor Taylor is now leaving Tulsa and got a job offer from Governor Henry to work for him. It's good to know people when your asking for money!
