Why was he let go? What exactly did he do wrong? Was he let go for not letting the drunks in a certain subdivision do whatever they please? Did he hurt their feelings?

Maybe its newcort. Plenty of freaky drunks --but probably not -- no one ever gets arrested. pd loves the drunks they just wave and keep going.Maybe its just cheap entertainment for them.

He was, until he got canned, the main cop in MP. Nice enough guy, seems the "settlers" didn't want him around no more though...

Chuck Slater was by far the worst cop I have ever seen. Glad to see him go. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. When the main cop in a Barney Fife type town does nothing but harass the locals who in turn pay his salary something is severely wrong. You are sworn to serve and protect how does that equate to writing tickets for parking stickers to new people in town that didn't even know they needed a sticker. Ever heard of a warning. Especially in a small town. Not what I expected. I'm sure the most hurt by his firing is Casey's fountain soda machine.

I guess we found whose feelings he hurt... MP Citizen wrote: Chuck Slater was by far the worst cop I have ever seen. Glad to see him go. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. If what you're saying is true, it's pretty impressive that a SUBDIVISION has that kind of power over the police department...let alone a subdivision full of drunks! Makes you wonder if you should watch your words so that you're not the one "hurting their feelings." Really, Gilligan? There is actually someone in Maple Park that thought Slater was a "stand up cop?"
