Can someone please tell me why they don't just close the schools down for a week to try to get the virus under control in the schools. I am being told that the majority of Walton Middle has it. I know that school closures won't get rid of the virus but it could help get the problem under control.

the state of florida has laws that require schools to be in session 180 days each year--
otherwise they have to make them up

this virus has spread rapidly and many folks here are sick--Walton county doesn't seem to have any joint emergency management plan for illnesses such as these

as a parent, you have to do what is best for your child--but chances are if your child doesn't get it this week, it's just a matter of time with the close exposure everyone has in community settings like church and school

supposedly the vaccine(injection) is an inactive version so the side effects should be less. lets be honest though, this vaccine hasn't been long invented. That in itself is scary. I guess our only choice is to way the options. I would hate to know that one of my own children were to die from something that I could have avoided.. My 13 yearold has already had the virus. I am not sure if it is because I was so fast to get treatment or what, but other than the fever being so high it really wasn't that bad. The main thing I think id=s to get treatment fast. DON'T waint and try to self treat.
