I blame the kids - its BS to say that they aren't responsible for their own actions - by this time in life they KNOW the difference between right and wrong... They should ALL be tried for Attempted Murder and as adults... the victim will be in for years of torment and pain... SO SHOULD THEY!!! These vicious little wannabe thugs should be dealt with appropriately and not released back into an unsuspecting society when they turn 18... That would be a true slap in the face of honest and decent people everywhere.

I also blame the parents for not stepping up and doing their job... quit making excuses for your poor parenting... its because of YOUR lack of parental control, guidance, boundaries, and failure to teach them the consequences of their actions - that a young boy will be FOREVER scarred both physically and mentally by this vicious attack!! Don't try to act the victim here... don't say well I can't control them because I'm a single mom... Sorry, but that's BULL... I'm a single mom and I have control over my kids... They do get spanked when they need it - and guess what - because of that and them realizing that there are consequences to their actions - I rarely have to spank them!!! They know their boundaries and while they aren't always happy with my constant watching of them and their friends.. my involvement in every aspect of their lives... they also realize that I always have their best interests at heart and that I'm trying to teach them how to be MEN!!! and not to blame someone else for their failures in life.

My heart goes out to the victim and his family!! I cannot image the pain you are going through right now... I hope that your recovery is as painless as possible and that you have the strength and resolve to not give up. Bless you all.

This is just terrible. When we stopped being able to spank kids and went to time out the whole world went downhill. Gone are the days when you would get your **** busted for the wrong and gone are the days when if you had done something wrong, your momma knew it before you got home. No one cares anymore it doesn't seem like anything is working. We are acting as if we are in the third world countries where there is no regard for life. If they go to juvenile, they will only get a slap on the hand, it's a piece of cake for these kids. Work it out, do your time and when your 18, we will give you a break. If you think they aren't that smart and didn't know what they were doing, you have it all wrong. These kids know more today what with youtube and all the other information they can receive than we did in our day. This definetely cannot be called an accident. I hope everyone writes their senators and congressman on this one so that the laws can become stiffer for these kinds of outcomes and be a voice for this other child. I don't care how BADA** you are, you have no right to do any of this to anyone. I think they all should be sent to a hospital, in a burn unit and be made to work and help every patient in that unit from changing bandages to giving baths and holding on to the bed pans 24/7 and attending to all of someones needs till they drop. Put a voice to the injustice, make them pay. Don't just put them in a cell for their families to feed their phone account and their commissaries.(The system should start taking 15% of that and giving it to victims of families) I worked for a prison systems and one of their commissaries ran $100,000 dollars a month through it, now go figure. My apologies and heart go out to this young victim, for our government and the system that will not eventually protect your rights. Heck, I am not sure that anyone has any rights anymore....
I agree but if the mom had spanked her kid, she would have gone to jail for child abuse. Can't win. Everyone needs to turn the T.V off in their house till the children are grown and moved out

My dad died when I was 1. My mother was useless. I grew up, put myself through college twice, got married raised kids and none of us ever spent a night in jail or deserved to.

We make our own lives. Some of us whine and cry about what cr@ppy childhoods we had. Some of us decide we will make our adult lives better. When kids are always told society owes them, they will make society pay.

It's not often I hear something intelligent much less something I agree with come out of your mouth "FEDUP" but I have to hand it to you on this one. You're spot on! The only thing you might consider adding is the need for society to be more restrained and let parents raise their children, not every child that gets a crack on the butt for not minding his parents is an abused child. You can't hold the parents responsible when we take all their resources away to handle the matter. I still have one ear longer than the other because my grandma didn't hesitate to latch on to me when I went astray and every bu-ttwhipping my mom and dad gave me I deserved and it didn't hurt me none. Sometimes it's just the right answer.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Cancer

Be careful today Cancer, because your emotions could cloud certain issues as they often to and leave you feeling confused. You should be especially wary of believing what you want to believe, rather than believing the evidence in front of your eyes. It's easy to kid yourself now about someone's motives or reliability, even if deep down you know that you're telling yourself a load of old twaddle.
