Tanger outlet coming to Deer Park

I hope they have plans to upgrade Riverhead. The East End needs the jobs more then western Long Island. Sometimes I wonder if Tanger decision was propted in part by the 10 year tax abatement coming to an end in Riverhead. I know that the main reason is because most of the shoppers come from western suffolk on into the city. Just don't forget Riverhead!!!

Riverhead is already forgotten. No one goes there, the tax abatement is expired. The vacancy rates are getting higher. Tanger is a REIT. Profit is falsely boosted by lack of tax payout. Will be boosted by ten year tax break in Deer Park. Riverhead goes bye bye

Riverhead's Tanger is doing well from what I see. It's always crowded, however, I don't see the books either. As far as jobs go, Riverhead doesn't need anymore low paying jobs. It needs jobs that people can make a living off of. If tanger does go away, I won't be losing any sleep. All we get from it is increased traffic and no tax relief whatsoever. Plus anything to keep city people away is always a bonus.

I was wondering can anyone help me ? I am visiting the States in January . I usually go to Woodbury common outlet stores to pick up some bargains. I recently heard of the Tanger outlet stores . AAs I know nothing about this oulet I was wondering could anyone tell me honestly how good this oulet is (in piticular Pottery Barn) compared to Woodbury Common. I would really appreciate any type feed back . Thanking you !

Looks to be a revenue boosting/ traffic/crime increasing/ taxing proposal. What more to say.

does anyone have any info on what stores will be in this new outlet center in deer park. how about employment ?? will there be Gucci, neiman narcus, fendi, tory burch, juicy??

Well i heard that it's coming out by Christmas.

That outlet will never open. There is going to be a major panic recession due to gas prices. Nearly everyone can tighten the belt for a year until they see where this is going. The brakes are already on in Riverhead.

Riverhead stop hating the new outlet in deer park is going to be soo nice and alot of people are waiting for it to open to get some good bargains and ofcourse i'm one of them lol.

Tanger Deer Park is opening Oct. 23rd.. The grand opening will consist of Natasha Bedingfield and Third Eye Blind.. The center is beautiful...

We heard that it was opening in 2009, really?
Let's hope it bring good not bad!!!

Traffic what traffic? They say it won't have an impact on the traffic so why should they do anything to address it? How about the condition of Grand Blvd. from Commack Rd to Udalls Rd.? I suppose the potholes and bumps will stay? They've a lot do to get it ready in time.

Then again, maybe there won't be much traffic after the initial grand opening. No one will be able to shop after their paycheck gets deposited into their gas tank. And don't forget, just in time for the winter months when we all have to put fuel in our home oil tanks! What a joke! I can barely afford to shop at Walmart.

You got it Melanie! The roads are horrible! They are suppose to be opening this fall! But nothing has been done to the roads! What about getting to the grocery store! Those of us who shop at STOP AND SHOP! How will that be! And you are right about the gas prices and heating our homes! We will be having a hard enough time with that let alone going to Coach, VT or any the other they mentioned. HOW ABOUT ALL OF YOU SHOP IN YOUR OWN AREA AND LEAVE DEER PARK ALONE! WE DON'T NEED YOU OR WANT YOU ON OUR STREETS!!

What is your source for this information - there has not been a public announcement regarding the grand opening other then it will occur in late October.

maybe you guys need to get off your duffs and get another job. Crying isn't going to get you any where.

After they were given a 10 year tax abatement, a large donation was entered into the babylon townhall re election war chest of a certain individual. The amount of the donation far staggers the amount contributed to this individual for the past ten years, go figure.

The same group opening this "shopping center" owned the one out east in Riverhead. After the tax abatement was exhausted they started shutting down the operation to what it resembles now, sadly a ghost town. Did they need to destroy the land for this profitable conspiracy ? Some of the original construction also is faltering and appears to be substandard. Just go walk around those estetic columns some fly by night contractor installed, there crumbling and cracking.
What kind of constuction are they doing in Tangers? Yellow and orange stores and an appearance that resembles cartoon structures.

I guess they will be adding alot of drapes and curtains to cover cracks and structural flaws in the walls as time goes by. Who is inspecting the construction work from local and county government? Peter Pan, Tinker Bell or Mickey Mouse?
