I think quite the opposite. Domestic workers abe being paid too much. Overfunded pensions and other expensive benefits are some of the factors that brought the American auto industry down. Domestic manufacturing is going away, and not just in the auto industry. I would look for some other line of work. Seriously.

Ford is making money because of smart management decisions. They decided to build quality cars and trucks instead of the crap that GM and Chrysler keeps churning out. How many times have we heard GM say they've "reinvented themselves" or their cars are "comparable to any car in the world" only to have your GM vehicle nearly fall apart when the odometer gets near 100k? America is not falling for it anymore. If anything Ford is proof you can pay UAW wages and still make a profit as long as you make a reliable product that people want to buy.
