Volusia County political news -- Lifestyle and Leisure, Frank B...

Full story: Orlando Sentinel

Losing weight is a trend making a comeback among politicians in west Volusia. But instead of shrinking their tummies with the help of surgery as several have in recent years, some have adopted a healthier plan.

At last common sense prevails....too bad it took a budget crisis. Maybe the budget will get so bad next year that their won't even be a Volusia DAY! Only $11,000 instead of $40,000 to smooze......oh, I feel much better!

READ the article. It says "amidst tighter budgets". My comments were directed at waste, no matter which entity is responsible. It was always a dog and pony show that money was wasted on. Elected officials in Tally should just do their jobs for the citizens of FL without all the nonsensical freebies and perks to convince them.

$11,000 is still too much at this time with cutbacks and layoffs, it makes you wonder if some of what comes out of the mouths of these council people is true.
I see that some dead weigh is coming off of politicians. We could lose more dead weight if we got rid of some of them and their foolish wasteful ways. Start in Deltona with the fancy pants mayor. No suprise he was a fittness instructor it answers plenty. He sure is concerned with his looks and not tax dollars.

Not that I can see or have heard of.

The Palm Water Way Canal, that is across the street from his house is still a sewer, full of trash, limbs, overgrown weeds, contamination, and almost unfit for boating to the river.

Hmmm. And he is a conservationist?
??????????

I see him in the parking lot across from the city county building talking to some people at times.

Not to mention he was on the water board thingy....nice.
Good to know he is out there talking to people in the parking lot, sounds like he is hard on the job!

Interesting how he can organize the St. Johns River Clean Up! Want to see a dump? Check out his property at 230 North Street!!! Instead of looking good in the community- Try look good in your neighboehood!!!
