Wait until you get your bill. I am requesting an itemized bill for services before I pay this huge bill for a non-emergent visit.

Well at one time that place had the right people
who wanted to make a good hospital for Rhea Co.
Something changed there ,I see some of the good nurses have left,A new Chief Nursing Officer would
help,From what i hear she puts to many patients for one nurse, to save money for the place so she can get a bigggggg bonus, and a patient will pay the price,

back in march i was taken to rmc hadn't been outof bed in a week i had the worst headache. but the doc i guess thought i was there for pain meds after he came in and i told im what was happening he did a ct and i never seen him again and then the nurse came back in and said i had pluracy well how would they know that they never took a chest x-ray. the next day my husband took me to chattanooga to erlanger and they did a ct and ssaid i had a blood clot. and then they done an mri and i was sent to vanderbuilt to have surg. but my husband call the insurance company that we pay 5000 a year for. and told them not to pay them a dime. when my lawyers get done with rmc, they will have to build a new one or go back to the old one. because im going to own this one......

I was in the ER due to terrible chest discomfort & very high blood pressure. I have heart disease & stents plus I have had two heart attacks. They took some test & told me there was nothing wrong. I told them there was something wrong with me. I didn't care for the Dr. or nurses @ Rhea. They treated me like I was making it up even with the out of control BP. I went to Parkridge in Chattanooga & my artery had 80% blockage. I received wonderful care there. I wouldn't take my dog to the ER @ Rhea.

The bottom line is people ABUSE THE EMERGENCY ROOM! Everyone knows someone who does it. No one is coming in to tell you how happy they are to be there and the staff has to deal with angry people, people who have lost loved ones, grieving parents, TRUE emergencies and the patients with the hangnail or the headache are the first to complain! There could be a CPR in progress on an infant and people will still complain about the wait! It takes time for test results to come back so if you see a nurse or doctor sitting at a desk maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge! They work 12+ hour shifts and it may be the only chance they have had to sit down all day-you have NO IDEA! Say what you will but a lot of lives have been saved and good luck when there is NO hospital around and you have to drive to Chattanooga or wherever and wait 4-8 hours to be seen. People die in their lobbies ALL THE TIME! You just don't hear about it. Every hospital has issues that are constantly being addressed but until you have been on the other side and have had to listen to the constant abuse by patents and families, have dealt with the true drug seekers who make their rounds from ER to ER looking for pain medicine prescriptions on your tax dollars then maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge. It might make you a little jaded also.
Americans are just spoiled. Be glad you don't have to travel 50 miles on a bus and wait in a line with hundreds of other people in the heat for treatment. You always hear about the bad stuff, never the good stuff. It's a shame, too, because working in the medical field is a tough job.

That would be stupid to take your dog there. They do not have vet services. In case you didn't know Parkridge is all about the $$$ so of course you would receive some kind of expensive treatment, whether you needed it or not, but I agree, Parkridge and Memorial are very good hospitals. Maybe you should have gone there first where that is most likely where your cardiologist is located.

The doctor had to check her out or Erlanger NEVER would have accepted her. People need to ask questions. Hospitals are NOT allowed to transfer people for NO reason. Sorry about your mother's spleen but obviously the doctor knew something was wrong or he would not have arranged for a transfer. You are contradicting yourself.

I went to Rhea Co Hospital inJuly and they saved my life. I was having a massive heart attack and the staff there worked on me very hard and fast. My cardiologist said they saved my life by using medication to bust the clots up. The two young nurses were amazing and made me feel at ease, they explained the procedures. And the doctor never left my side..In a true emergency I know this is my place of choice.
