Everyone from Dayton, knows everyone who has been around here for a while, Grave Rob maybe Leon and Mike wasn't there for you, but perhaps they are close to another family member, I am sorry for your loss but perhaps they knew the person you lost.
As for myself, if someone is going to come see me, do it while I'm living, I don't want aunts, uncles and cousins standing over my casket saying what a good man I was, Funerals in my opinion makes 2 families rich, while catching families vulnerable and grieving, slap them with a 10,000 dollar funeral bill, I want a cement vault, and a plywood box and be laid to rest for less than a thousand dollars
not dead yet

Yes it cost way to much money to die. Imagine, you pay as much for a grave plot than an acre of land on shut-in gap mountain, or graysville mountain. its crazy. sure someone like bobby doss than has done nothing more than mow grass his whole life (all i know anywho) will keep up the graveyard. To me dead is dead and cremate whats left of me and scatter my ashes around somewhere. I'll leave $1,000 in my will to the person who will go inside restarants and sneak some of my ashes in salt shakers lol

grave rob 4 a vote wrote:
Notice how Leon has taught his boy Mike the art of going to every funeral home when someone dies. This is beneath the worst of the worst. At a time when people are in loss and sorrow in walks two Sneeds that sign the book and work the crowd. Sure, we were nice to Leon and Mike and thanked them for coming but he lost our entire families vote. A death of a loved one is not the place to solicit votes. I am going to send a letter myself to every funeral home and ask them to warn people of this sick behavior. This has nothing to do with a sign on a car window this goes to the very core of a lack of dignaty.
I could not agree more, a funeral home is not the place to be soliciting votes. That is a time for the family to say to goodbye to their loved ones, without someone asking them to vote for them or to put a tacky white sign on their vehicles, out of sense of obligation to Mike Sneed.
This is one of the all time lowest things that I have ever heard from a person running for office. Why not go to the hospital and campaign to those who are laid up and a captive audience?
There is a time and a place for everything, and a funeral is not the place to campaign for office.
Mike Sneed and his father need to be ashamed of themselves for soliciting votes from a grieving family and friends.
It shows the desperation of Mike Sneed for the office of Sheriff, and for his father to suggest the funeral in the first place shows a lack of remorse for the dead and grieving.
That is exactly why a 3rd party candidate needs to run against both Neal and Sneed, and end the nepotism that is rampant in Rhea County.
Especially with Leon Sneed running for County Administrator, that would give way too much power to one family, who would control the city police, county sheriff's office and county administration.
This would create a Sneed mafia who would do what the wish with no boundaries or restrictions. it is already apparent with the city police where Chris Sneed is renting an apartment to one of his officers a definate conflict of interest.
Shame on Mike Sneed for interrupting a funeral to canvas the crod of mourners for votes and to pass out those stickers.
no such thing

why not ask for votes at a funeral? the dead man will usually end up voting anyways. The dead always somehow to manage to vote, and with Teresa Ballard-Snyder in there and the new private act to soon become law just before election there will be a monarchy running the county. Either you can suck em off or pack up and leave. Then again, there is always that third option.....

That is exactly why we need an independent candidate who is willing to stand up to Neal and the Sneeds, there game of nepotism is long overdue to be shutdown.
The citizens of Rhea county deserve someone who is honest and trustworthy, instead of the current staus quo.
Canvassing a funeral for votes is an alltime low for politicans. Someone should have told them to hit the bricks, this is a funeral not a d*** forum for votes.

Out of curiosity, just how much does those window stickers cost? My estimation would be that they range from 10-20 bucks. In any event, who is paying for 1,300 of them? Is it fair to say that Heather Sneed or whoever admins that Facebook political Mike Sneed for sheriff site, does that mean that well over 1,000 sticker sogns have been BOUGHT? If so,m who bought them? Are the Sneeds spending all the money NOW well in advance of qualifyinf petition time in order to avoid public disclosure notices? Avoiding campaign contributions, not reporting donations and violating election laws is not only a state violation, but federal as well.

I fully expect to see (and I will be watching) for FULL financial disclosure and just because money is either being borrowed, solicited, donated or the like IT MUST BE DISCLOSED. That is why we have fair elections and election laws to allow for such. Mike Sneed may ass around and get to hang around the jail mingling with those "crooks" as he boasts about doing as a 16 year old kid. Imagine, 16 years old and the biggest sway in life was befriending drug dealers, thieves and other jail birds. Yep, whoever said that apple doesn't fall far from the tree is right. Time to get his GPA as well, ya think????
