The US Court does not have to live next to it. What if the court doesn't care if they turn our residential neighborhood into a slum.
And it will ruin the stores at the same intersection that have been there for 30 years such as Publix. Loyal businesses that have served this community for many years when there is already a 24 Walmart 2 minutes down the same road. Why would you need a huge crime and traffic monster right smack in the CENTER of your town?
If they pass it I will be convinced that the court is easier bought than our local council.

If their is a 24 hr WalMart down the road, they probaly will close that one once the new store is built.

SERIOUSLY, ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THE PLAZA ON THE S. SIDE OF GRIFFEN @ UNIVERISTY? I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU... IT'S ALREADY A DUMP! LET THEM BUILD THE WALMART - IT'LL SAVE A LOT OF DAVIE RESIDENTS FROM HAVING TO DRIVE WEST TO FLAMINGO, AND GIVE JOBS TO THOSE WHO SUPPORT MASS TRANSIT. IT WILL BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY OVERALL.

Funny, Davie had no problem approving the Commons (the size of Sawgrass)next to Weston. Then does want a Wal-Mart Super Center?

I love the people who but a home next to a vacant commercial lot and complains of noise and traffic when a commercial development goes there. This Wal-Mart is proposed to go on University Drive, the busiest retail corridor in Broward. If Wal-Mart can't build on University Drive, then where else should they build? They have a constitutional right to build there. They own the land. It is zoned for commercial development. The city is 100% wrong.

What a mess.

The reason the problem exists is that the Davie Town Council listens to whoever happens to be in the building at the time of the hearing. The Wallmart would help the tax base at a time that the Town plans on cutting services. I hope they decide to drop this, as there going to lose. They already lost one suit on the same location. I hope they don't make the same mistake as they did with IKEA. If the legal bills were being paid with the officils own money. We wouldn't be in court.

I used to be against the idea of a Walmart big box moving in across the street from a Publix that has served this neighborhood for many years. Now I don't care. Publix doesn't give a hoot about their long time customers. p.s. don't ever mention to the manager in that publix that the help don't speak your language. You'll get heckled the next time you go in because the mgr has a biiiiiiig mouth.
Gooooooo Walmart!!!!!!!!! Who cares any more. I need another place to shop!

I think that we have the same right as other residents of different areas of the USA to have a Wal Mart and to save 35 % over Pulix's highway robbery prices

Why should WalMart have to build a new building when there are SO MANY empty shopping centers in Davie, Fl?? We who reside in Davie came here for the green, open spaces.I have lived here for over 30 years, and I cherish the wide open spaces, horses walking everywhere... We do not need any more building in our town. Super Target is bad enough...don't add to it...use existing space, make it fit your needs. Then, maybe everyone will not be so down on WalMart coming to Davie!!!

You guys need Walmart there to bring down your taxes a bit. Your property taxes wind up being two percent of the value of the home you reside in. I live in Sunrise and the taxes are cheaper probably because of Sawgrass Mall and many other places there. I used to live in Davie and I remember how high the taxes were. I think the people who go to college down the road from there would appreciate it due to the low prices. They only have Publix down where they are also. Winn Dixie is going out of business and I don't think shopping at Food Town is a safe bet.

Yankees have already infested South Florida and brought their liberalism, crime and drugs. At this point Broward can only get better.
