Posters 1, 2, and 3 are all absolutely correct. You get what you pay for, and in this case you get what you vote for, a communist who is set out to destroy the US from within.

So John McCain and the Rhodes Scholar Sarah Palin would have solved the economic problems within the first 100 days? If you honestly think that, you are delusional.

yup, keep laughing, these kids, the ones you all are joking about, and refusing to accept any more responsibility for, are NOW going to be Directionless, leaderless and unsupervised after these new cuts, then they will be leaving the protective envelope of the school system,(thats protecting YOU) and breaking into your homes, raping and killing your wives and girlfriends, and stealing your possesions, out of sheer boredom and lack of direction. THATS GONNA BE REAL FUNNY!SEE YOU IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM!IDIOTS!

I am a teacher. Most of my students are foreign born. Their parents never bother to learn English. Most of these students are on free and reduced-price lunch. Why? I have been paying taxes for years and I have yet to get a free apple from the school not to mention a meal. Oh, I have also noticed that these "poor" students have the costliest cell phones known to man and iPods that no one needs. A thorough audit needs to be conducted. Generally speaking, many of the parents of these "poor" students have a better and newer car than I have.

Most of the children I have met who go to high school are delinquents. Take this girl C.D.M. who is on the soccer team. but dates a thug who is in jail for burglary. She helps him steal and then while he is in jail she steals to supply him with "jail upgrades"
I say home school these kids and hold the parents 100% responcible for their childs actions.

Look at this garbage story. Why is it not written about all of the money that has been wasted over the years? Where are those stories? I do not feel sorry one bit for this overblown unionized behemoth. It has been a broken system the day it was created by government. It is time the people demand this broken school board be disbanded and that the cities take over their respective schools, so we the citizens can keep a better eye on the children. Our school board certainly can't.

I hope the Sun-Sentinel will continue to write about the state of education in Florida. We are surrounded by legislators who refuse to adequately fund education and have withdrawn money year after year, a lottery system which does not and cannot make up for the money the legislators pull out of education and a school board that wastes and mismanages the funding they get.

It is not and should never be acceptable for Florida to be 50th in the state for per student funding.

Why not start by eliminating the excessive bloat of the FCAT which is one of the most expensive and unfair products offered by the Dept of Education. The spend nearly 30 million a year on something that does not educate and offers nothing to the students. A test given in Feb or March that covers the ENTIRE year of learning and then is used to place a child is more than expendable. Before they limit paper allotment per teacher and cut salaries and classes, lets give this mess the heave-ho. Are the administrators and execs of the school system taking cuts or is it just those in charge of educating our kids who must sacrifice. Spending 300,000 on a Suit who evaluates testing scores or 250,000 on someone who buys the books is criminal. Parents: Be loud and don't walk away, it's time to force them into doing what we pay them for and no longer let them have the last say. These are our kids and I say ENOUGH!

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
