Good point about rich folks gating themselves. We'd have gridlock if everybody did it and personally I don't think gates belong on any street. Gates on streets = private property = value = taxes. Let's start collecting it and lower taxes other taxes. My attitude is if I can't freely drive down somebody else's street, I don't want them on mine either. I do feel these people are getting shafted and shuld get some help. OPPS I LIED. I have more brains than both of you CLOWNS put together Maybe 3 of U’s can make 1 of me. Dead end streets do not count nor Cull du sacs. And I do not have a frustration towards the GOV only people who cannot see beyond there means like for instance YOU.

If you live and drive in this town you will notice that you can not turn left from Sheridan street east of FEC R. R. crossing At Dixie Hwy. to go north on to those side streets in that neighborhood. So it’s the same thing only in a different part of town. Go see for yourself

I think everyone makes a good point. Blocking the eastside might work if it's done properly, and doesn't ruin the properties of my neighbors who work so hard to keep them up. blocking the traffic from going westbound on 54th court from 441 to enter the parking garage, making it a right turn only to go north. That will eliminate the parking garage traffic, and allow the residence two ways out of the neighborhood. Just two thoughts.

On my block alone people have no regard for pedestrians. Speed limits are posted, and IF you know the driving Laws in the STATE of FL. In any residential street the speed limit is 30 MPH not 50 That way it gives people time to move out of the way of oncoming autos. Because sometimes there are people who deliberately block side walks or they just don’t care and therefore people need to walk in the street and take a chance of getting run over. People are not allowed to be in the street. It's just like bicycles are not allowed on sidewalks. Get a back yard or have your kids play at a park. You can't just block a road because there is too much traffic. It's a public road. Maybe install speed bumps? Blocking sidewalks is more few and far between than speeding cars. That is also diserving of a ticket and illegal. Unfortunatly, there is development close to your property. You can't stop it. Just like if you live next to an exmpty lot...you can't block someone from developing on it if they own it. Control your children...I'm so tired of everyone pointing the finger at everyone else exept the parents.

I live on a dead end street and have lots of traffic and speeders on my block, should we block off the only opening on my block so nobody can get in and out of their homes... If you dont like whats going on in your community, then move. Well if you don't like your neighborhood anymore...move. Oh...you're probably stuck in your homes. Too bad. Tax payers should not fund any changes to your street. You bought the house...not us.

El contrar Pierre...roadways are for cars and sidewalks and private yards are for kids. That doesn't give people the right to speed but don't assume that you should have the right to play in the road. That is just idiotic thinking. I don't drive on your lawn, don't play on our roads.

I live in a gated community in Davie. Thank the lord!!!! We saved up for years to get into a place like this!! And it was worth it. Before, we lived in sunrise across from the Sawgrass mall. All of a sudden, we had thru traffic everywhere and all day. It just depends on where you live. If you buy a home in an area that can be updated or added on, then you should have done you homework!!! No one cares about your homes because sadly they are not worth more than $2-300 grand. I FEEL for you...I was there. But, the city cares more about the earnings. Also I saw a few posts about children playing...there was no way in hell I was going to let my kids play in our front yard or on the street where we lived in Sunrise. They would have been hit by a car or kidnapped...we lived there when there was some pedophile f**k trying to kidnap little girls playing. Thank god I am outta there. It is hard to live where I am, because it is an upper scale community, but I know my kids are safe and can go out and play until it gets dark....just like when I was a kid in the '70's...so we work our butts off to make sure they are safe. As far as the casino, I love it and more and more and more people come every day...you will never be able to stop it unless you get the city on your side.

Go see for yourself ITS LIKE THAT TO KEEP YOU OUT OF THE TRIANGLE VILLAGE (GAY SECTION OF TOWN) AND ALSO THE DANIA HEIGHTS SECTION. THIS AREA WAS PLAGUED WITH DRUGS, PROSTITUTION, AND CRIME A FEW YEARS AGO. CLOSING OFF THE STREETS HAS DONE GREAT IN REDUCING ALL OF THAT AND TRAFFIC TOO. YET NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE IN THE SOUTHEAST SECTION TO STOP TRAFFIC UNTIL RECENTLY. 1 SPEED HUMP ON SE 2 AVE FROM DANIA BEACH BLVD TO SHERIDAN. BEST SHORT CUT TO US-1 NORTH!

I wonder if it's legally possible to turn a neighborhood ex post facto into a gated community? If our better neighborhoods in Dania, east of US 1, did that, we might be able to pick and choose who can use our back streets. That way we'd have entrances at certain points with guardposts, and guards would check who drives or walks in and for what purpose.
If people want to get from western Dania to the beach, let them use Stirling Road or Sheridan Street. We are sick and tired of cut-through traffic.

If someday Dania neighborhoods east of US 1 do indeed secede and incorporate a new city, it might be possible to make all owners and residents collective owners of our streets. Turn much of the new town into a walled city, with security guards regulating who comes in at certain points. Those with no genuine business in our streets would need to use Dania Beach Boulevard or Sheridan Street to access the beaches.
We are sick and tired of riff-raff from the lower neighborhoods not only using us as a short-cut, but bringing crime and nuisance. If someone from our area dares venture into the depressed neighborhoods, he faces hostility and possibly even violence after dark. And we are supposed to keep on paying taxes on these lowlives?
