Having filed a formal complaint against candidate Capalini with the ethics board I can say he has run the sleezeyest campaign yet. No surprize since he is a republican. Mr eller your apology in your paper about not knowing how biased your moderator was at the Mayors forum Tuesday night does not obsolve you. He was your moderator and you bear the responsibility for his poor manners, and poor behavior. A pox on your house. I know a few adverstisors will pull out of your rag sheet as soon as this election is over and you go broke trying to get capalini off the hook

Charles Heath Muniz hit the nail on the head. Andy and his former President Jorge Santiesteban who resigned after being when served with papers for using union funds for personal use and corruption never really organized any major hotels in South Florida. Yet Any has been paid by the International as an Organizer. The Local 355 is a pathetic excuse of a union. Andy paid a lawyer to fight the charges but had to step down as head of the Local for 2 years, but managed to still work for the local. He even changed his last name to Madtes to apparently throw off everyone in the local to think he is someone else. If you google Andy Balash and UNITE-HERE corruption you will see the articles from the Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel about the investigation by by the Department of Labor. Jorge later admitted that he was President but wasn't aware of what Andy was doing, Andy had full control. I would not waste my time or money to join that worthless union. I was a union member for over 35 years of my life and believed in them, until learning how corrupt Unite-Here is, they only look out for their officials and could care less for their membership. If they wanted to be a real union, they would have made a major effort to organize all major and lesser hotels and restaurants in South Florida. They have no strength whatsoever.
