I would imagine that the two companies that tied must then rebid against each other. But what the hell it's only money. Toss a coin.

It would never occur to this Town Clowncil to make the two companies rebid against each other. Why that would save the town money! They'd rather clown around.

Who tossed the coin? Was it Susan Starkey?

How was it a tie when one bidders was thousands below the other?? If both companies were well qualified then the bid should have gone to the lowest bidder.

If it can go to a coin toss it can surely go to the lowest bidder.

What is wrong with this council?

And how much did Boca Swim pay for a coin toss?

They were the higher bidder. What a joke.

Read the article again, the bids were to PAY the city to run the program, so you want the HIGHER bidder, and that's who won!

On the surface, this is comical. But if you consider that a coin flip is less subject to improper lobbying, undue pressure, illegal gifts and bribes, I would say a coin flip is better.

P.S. "F" Deerfield Beach Mayor Al Capellini and Weston city spokeswoman Denise Barrett. Deerfield is hundreds of times worse than Davie with their antics, and Weston is sooooo perfect, with their crazy mayor, commission, attorneys, and consultants.

YOU CAN BET THAT IF FLORIDA SWIM HAD BID ONE GRAND HIGHER THAN BOCA SWIM , THE COIN WOULD HAVE FELL ON THE OTHER SIDE. NO ONE BUT THE FLIPPER SAW THE FLIP. I SEE THE COURTS INVOLVED.

May have it backwards but the point is still the same. It COULD have cost thousands more with the toss of a coin.

I thought the bid process was more sophisticated like lowest/highest bidder, etc.

Legal or not aren't they obligated to save the town money?? Why chance it on a coin toss. If both companies were even then go with the highest bidder. That's more fair to EVERYONE than the toss of a coin.

Typical Davie Logic. Just eliminate all bidding countywide. Perhaps use a drawing, such as picking names out of a hat or a lottery. Would do you expect from the minds of a town that hired Kovanes?

They are a real side show. All bids done by lottery. That's funny.

That'll be rigged too.

It is called the "Davie Show" for a reason... A Mayor who does not know how to follow Roberts Rules, Counsel Barbie who thinks she is the Homecoming Queen and just loves to yell and scream at Town Staff, The intelligent but ignorant counsel member that just lost half his district to a Districting Committee that was the most corrupt have just been appointed to review our Town Charter, the new guy out west that does not yet know How to be, except the fact he got elected, and lets not forget the water boy. It really is some show. We use to have a Mayor who got caught with his pants down but at least he was an accountant and new how to create and maintain a budget… Let’s not forget our new Town Administrator… anyone impressed… yet? Yea I would say this is typical for Davie, I am just surprised we are not paying for the swimming lessons, but then who was… staff, counsel members… who flipped the coin… it is Davie Right? Someone got paid.

You do not need to watch television at night for all of the high drama ... just go to Davie and watch the Clowncil in action! Bring popcorn and be prepared to watch ... prime time, post prime time, late show, late late show ... and (sometimes) good morning_______. LOL
