Concealed Weapons Permits in Maryland

I'm an MP in the military and for what ever reason they decided not to give MP's the right to carry concealed is beyond me. I live in a pretty ghetto part of MD, and my job involves high risk duties, let's just say you tend to make some enemies out there when you're a cop. Any one think I would have a good chance at getting my permit

It may be that you already have the right without an explicit permit just like a VA cop has the right to carry in MD. Only the Moon Maids know for sure but if I were you I would at least get the Florida permit. Then if ever you were "caught carrying" your lawyer could argue that you are a cop AND you were cleared by the FBI to carry concealed in ~30 states. I think if Maryland won't issue permits they should at least recognize other states' permits that require the FBI fingerprint scan and some sort of firearms training like you have as an MP.

quite frankly, i carry all the time. F**k a bunch of permits. whats more important? your family, or some beaurocratic bulls**t process where you have to "prove" your in danger? last time i checked, most muggings, assaults, and killings are generally random. so i think its safe to assume criminals arent going through the phonebook robbing and schwacking ( yeah i said it ) people.. therefore, were all in danger.. hmm makes one think.

I feel that if you have to pass the background check to be able to purchase a handgun i think you should be able to apply for and receive a permit to carry that weapon without having had your life or your families life threatened i hope one day that the idiots that run this state will realize this too

i live in cecil county maryland and crime around here is steady getting worse. my littlw brother got stabbed just 2 months ago and i could name tons of other violent crime thats happen just recent. i think we all need to be able to cary a weapon just to be safe ya kno
