Question Raised In Trooper, Paramedic Dispute

As always a person is given a badge and they abuse every last bit of poer they are given. They should be sued and fired NOW!

Absolutely not!! I don't agree with lumping them all together, just as I don't believe in lumping all truck drivers, doctors or lawyers together. I feel that his comment about being rammed from behind by a 76-year-old semi driver was waaay out of line, and that's why I said to ignore that -- person.

If you'll be completely honest, I think you'll have to agree that there are more bad cops nowadays then we've ever had in this country. I have a very good friend from way back in high school that's been a police officer for years. He's told me things that would make your hair curl, and it wasn't just about the "perps."

One thing for sure. The HP needs canned!

I can't really make an opinion based on statistics about more bad cops, but agree there are more making the media. I am retired l.e. for four years now and will defend the officers, but agree mistakes are made. It is from my knowledge usually the younger ones or the boneheads, but the majority of l.e. officers are pro's and know how to deal civally with the public they are entrusted to protect and serve. I also drove trucks for 10 years, semi seven of those. I understand the reference to the tragic accident on the turnpike was out of line. Thanks for the comeback wait to see.

Thanks for the cyber roses Wait. In l.e. you usually get the other end of that, but I loved the profession. It is controversial by nature and officers develop the thick skin as they say to deal with it and do their jobs every day. My second love was truck driving and besides what you mentioned I hauled propane, oil, and gas during the 1980's oil field boom in Ok, Tx, and Ks. Long hours, but great pay. Helped me get a little further down the financial road, quicker.

This officer clearly had road rage!He should be fired.He clearly thought he could do whatever he wanted to without regard for the patient.The paramedics handled themselves as well as they could while being assaulted.Also the family of the patient showed remarkable restraint while their loved one needed help.I would not of been so nice!!!!!

Has anyone heard how this turned out...? I guess the trooper is still on the force...!!!! how about the paramedic... they seemed to attack him from every angle....

Not all police are bad...Most are true professionals.
But this guy is the exception... He needs canned!
