anyone in the know (which would not be you)...knows that nursing care is not the big problem with the cost of health care...maybe you could research a little.
Your argument makes no sense anyway though because the nurses are not working the mandatory overtime for free IDIOT...they are being paid overtime therefore it is more expensive than if the hospitals were to hire enough staff so that overtime was not necessary...therefore using your very own argument...you will pay LESS in healthcare costs if you have a nurse that is not working overtime....once again...you have proved yourself an IDIOT!
IT'S NOT A WONDER THAT YOU SIT AT HOME!1

Two words for you to study on!
Salary - and you want higher salaries to attract nurses and the second is '''BENEFITS'''!!!

Add it up !!! For an similar situation look at a schools budget to see where the most money goes to besides salaries!!--------

You are truly slow!

Lil john

It is called Health Care Insurance for a reason.
You could have the best health insurance program in the world, but what good would it do you , if there aren't any health care workers to provide those services.

hospitals are not the same as schools...salaries (including those for docs) and the main cost....again do some research IDIOT!!!

whether you like it not...nursing salaries will continue to increase...the system that you seem to know nothing about works by supply and demand....it a hospital can not get RNs to work for $40 per hour then the rate has to raised to $50 to attract RNs (surely you understand supply and demand)...if they are unable to recruit...they end up paying overtime to the poor overworked souls that need the money bad (which costs more than the $50 per hour they could have paid to recruit more people)....and if that doesn't work they go to temporary nursing agencies and pay the agency over $100 per hour per RN....so the cheapest way to do it is to pay enough to begin with to recruit their own staff.

don't be an idiot...you don't know more about this subject than the nurses Lil John.

What's so special about nurses ?
Have you worked 16 hrs over and over and you cant get home to take care of your kids. They can't play sports because you don't no if you can pick them up.And when you are off you are to tired to do anything and your body hurts so bad and your mine is so tired you cant think straight. But you love what you do and feel that is what you should be doing.A single mom and need to keep your job because you have children to take care of. being a CNA is not easy but you make a difference in someone life everyday. Why don't you try it and see how easy it is.

THIS WAS POSTED BEFORE -- FOR THOSE LIKE FORMER GIRL THE IDIOT --- I POSTED IT AGAIN...

Health care costs have been rising for several years. Expenditures in the United States on health care surpassed $2 trillion in 2006, almost three times the $714 billion spent in 1990, and over eight times the $253 billion spent in 1980.

'''''eight times'''''!!!!!

Total health care expenditures grew at an annual rate of 6.7 percent in 2006, a slower rate than recent years, yet still outpacing inflation and the growth in national income...

hospital care accounts for the largest share'''

As shown in the figure below, hospital care accounts for the largest share (30%) of health expenditures. Physician services are the next largest items, comprising one-fifth of the national health spending.

http://www.kaiseredu.org/topics_im.asp...

WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY MEAN BY SAYING "HOSPITAL CARE" ????

Hospital care is the amount charged by the hospital idiot...look into how big of a portion of that actually goes to nursing salaries if you want to argue something...it is not a very big portion.

the average doc salary is $120K...not much when you consider the cost of med school and length of time in....hardly seems worth it. My husband is a corporate attorney and makes about 7 times that (doesn't that just bother the heck out of you Lil John).....seems the potential future docs ought to go law school instead and leave unappreciative trolls like you Lil John without health care!

On many levels you continue to make no sense though Lil John...you started this argument to piss and moan about the nurses having "special" privledges like no mandatory overtime sanctioned by law......these laws are actually going to lower health care costs because instead of paying the same nurse who has been working all day overtime, the hospital has to recruit a second nurse that they do not have pay overtime....while there is a cost in recruitment....it will be less than continuing to pay the same nurses overtime everyday. Will also make it easier for hospitals (and cheaper) for hospitals to recruit the Moms who are nurses who don't really "need" to work b/c they will know that come the end of their shift, they can go home to meet their home responsibilities.

So why are you complaining about about something that is going to save the health care industry money? You really are ignorant of the facts in health care (and politics but that is another story for another thread).

Perhaps actually try to think this time before you post a reply.

The whole world is not out to get you, Troll man, so you don't have to be so bitter all the time.

it's apparant you can't add and know nothing about hiring and benefits -- what goes along with salary? Ponder that, and read the damn site I posted!

read my posts...I never said the hospital did not bill the insurance company. I said that the main portion labeled under hospital care that you are billed for does not go toward nursing salaries!!!

One of the reasons that hospital care is so high is because the paying people (those with insurance) are charged at a much higher rate to make up for all of the free care that the hospital must give out to the uninsured who arrive and can not be legally turned away from the ER. I really don't know (it has baffled greater minds than mine) what the answer to this is....perhaps Obama's heath care plan will work because there will not be uninsured anymore (perhaps not more but it is worth a try b/c the current system sure is not working).

Lil John...many of the RNs are prn and part time and don't get benefits....I really don't know that many RNs who work full time anymore (most are too burnt out)....the full time peeps are many times CNAs (nursing assisitants) who need the money...their salary is not that high so you should not be complaining about that.
