from scnow:

"Bishops also hold my attention when they are delivering a sermon. I decided long ago that I needed to listen and absorb what they are saying.
Bishop Allison is a mesmerizing speaker. To add emphasis to his sermon at Trinity 28 years ago, he utilized the distant roll of thunder, which gradually got louder as he eased into the Sermon on the Mount.

"I listened intently, especially to his interpretation of the part that says 'anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart. So if your eye — even if it is your best eye — causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. Better for part of you to be destroyed than for all of you to be cast into hell ...'

"The bishop in essence said that most men who had ever been to the beach in the summer would probably going around without eyes if the law was strictly obeyed.

"He said we shouldn’t give the Pharisees such a hard time because it’s virtually impossible to obey the spirit of the law. He noted this was the gist of what Jesus was trying to say.

"As the sermon continued that Sunday afternoon of long ago, I couldn’t help but notice a mosquito that was flying around the bishop’s head with obvious lust in its eyes ...

"I was convinced this menacing denizen of the deep would not have the nerve to attack a man of the cloth, especially the bishop.

"Obviously, the mosquito’s radar informed its brain that it was buzzing around in holy air because it suddenly banked sharply to the left and headed for an open window as Bishop Allison, using a loud clap of thunder for emphasis, concluded his sermon.

"The bishop had no comment regarding the mosquito following the service. He was in a hurry to get back to Charleston."

Maybe others should as the Bible says have the same mind in you as is in Christ Jesus? Oh no that would mean surrendering self to His Will and Word not what just the crowd of ungodly who believe they can alter the Word and His Will.

Or you could use the brain God gave you and swat the mosquito with the Bible, unless your god is ink and paper.

Like reading letters from a loved one instead of talking to them while they are in the same room.

Idiocy........
