Good afternoon. With everything that has been written these last couple of days, I needed a break. I'll have a hazelnut coffee and a scone. Yum I was wondering if anyone of you who live close to Bolingbrook went to that Wine event last weekend? It really sounded nice. I like things like that. Tomorrow, I will help out at the Elementary School close to me...We will be takeing the kids to the Lincoln Park Zoo. It really is a wonderful zoo, it will be great for the children."Ok Jason, stop pulling Samantha's hair, line up,
hold each other's hand till we get on the Bus" LOL Well, hope you kids all have a nice day. Hang on Sleuthie's, we are in for a wild ride. LOL |
Did you have fun with the kids Avalon??? I wonder how zoo animals view people.... I can imagine the chimps looking through the bars of their cages or habitat, back at the human eyes staring at them, and thinking: "oh, here we go again, marge....another bus load of rowdy humans....you'd think they were raised in the jungle or something!! I think I'll turn my back to them and maybe throw 'something' at them, just to watch their little faces go , OHHHHHHH!, and then I will jump up and down and scream...want to join me marge???" They are in many ways, much better people than we are...:) |

Orphan, that will be today. I love kids, and love their imaginations. They
always bowl me over with how smart they are. I also love animals. When I see the apes, and monkeys, I say to myself, there is no way one can exclude evolution from the equation. I'm pretty wide open with my thinking, and think you can have both religion and evolution. Some would argue with that, but I say to each his own. I hope later today turns out to be a beautiful day. Have a good one Orphan. |

1 The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey. The next day he drove up and said, "Sorry son, but I have some bad news. The donkey died." Chuck replied, "Well, then just give me my money back." The farmer said, "Can't do that. I went and spent it already." Chuck said, "OK, then, just bring me the dead donkey." The farmer asked, "What ya gonna do with him?" Chuck said, "I'm going to raffle him off." The farmer said, "You can't raffle off a dead donkey!" Chuck said, "Sure I can. Watch me... I just won't tell anybody he's dead." A month later, the farmer met up with Chuck and asked, "What happened with that dead donkey?" Chuck said, "I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two dollars a piece and made a profit of $898.00." The farmer said, "Didn't anyone complain?" Chuck said, "Just the guy who won.... so I gave him his two dollars back." Chuck now works for the government. |

Good evening sleuthies, what's shaken? I'll have myself a cup, and then ponder why we did not really want to go to Venetian Night down at the Lake
Front, downtown. It really is so pretty to see. I would say Venetian Night, and the Air Show are really wonderful to see. It does get crowded downtown, where as with the Air Show, you can see it from so many areas of the lake Front..you do not have to be down at North Ave. beach.(Although at North ave beach) you get to see all the side shows...and it is fabulous for the kids to see. Every Dog and Cat in Chicago curses this show and hides under the bed, or howls at the loud noise. It really bothers the Dogs ears. I love animals. There is a Dog beach right on lake real close to me. No humanoids allowed in the water. The dogs love it and have a great time. The owners throw a ball and all the olympian swimmer dogs try to get it, and bring it back to the owner. Every once in a while a foo foo dog that looks smaller than a cat, stands at the edge of the water and barks non-stop at all the dogs that are in the water. LOL probably thinking,( Oh those big beasts, trying to show over their bravado..how uncouth) |

what a nice hot day here....100 degrees....the pool is lovely...
went for a good haircut...there's dandy place across the street from where I live...(day spa) that has all the foo-foo amenities....so I treated myself... My hairdresser did a great job.... A good haircut always makes you feel better... I got crazy in the kitchen and made two loaves of fresh banana bread, and put pecans in it instead of the usual walnuts..it was yummy... it would go nicely with your hazelnut coffe, avalon... I must send you the recipe... The kitties are enjoying the sunshine....lazin' away on the deck....every now and then a local cliff swallow dive bombs in for a quick drink from the fountain on the deck....the cats are too hot to give chase....and they've been fed well; it's just too much trouble! I have a beautiful madevilla vine, blooming with dinner plate sized pink blossoms.... It looks like a tropical garden here...which it is....but smaller... It's a lovely place to put up your feet, sip something cool, and take in the occasion breeze... life is good. |

dang....it must be the heat...
mandevilla, not madevilla....and occasional, not occasion |

Avolon, I like to go in the evening to the lake on the north side, everyone comes home and take their dog to play on the water, throw ball far and most dog jump in to get it, then one start digging in the sand and all dogs start digging too, funny that they cover their view with all the sand in the air, I enjoy watching them. |

Good morning all. What a difference a day makes. When you get a good sleep and your mind is shut down, the next day you wake up refreshed and even have some different perspectives. What you thought was so pressing and important the day before, now becomes something a little more minor in its' importance.
I am getting spoiled by all this beautiful weather. My friend and her husband, had just sent me pictures of their home in Florida. She also told me, there was no way either one of them missed New York. They go to see family and all, but are so glad they moved to Florida. Whaaahaha...Oh well, Chicago is beautiful, especially in the Summer. OK, I'll have some tea and a biscuit with butter. Real sweet butter. I can do lite anything else, except butter. Here is to a great day. |
