DuPage teacher charged with battery on student

Inappropriate touching? What does that mean? I remember the good Augustinian fathers at St. Rita H.S."inappropriately touching" me upside my dumb head! And then, if the old man found out about it, I got it twice as bad at home.("I'm paying to send you to school and you're pulling this $%^&? WHACK!!)

I don't think DuPage County will have anything to do with this incident. That's a parochial school.

I wish the article had been a little more forthcoming about the 'touching' part. Was this sexual type touching, or did the teacher just grab an unruly student by the arm or something?

No kidding, I remember getting it at St James grammar school and constant detention at Sacred Heart of Mary. There was a nun at St James who would throw kids against a door and break the glass in the window. They never did anything to the nun, just the kids.

It's irresponsible reporting by the Tribune. Until more facts are known, this story should never have been printed. How bad could the "crime" have been if the bond is only $5,000? Now this man's name is being dragged through the mud, prematurely.

HAHA, I had a nun in grammar school grab me by the collar below my chin and try to lift me off of the ground she was so mad at me. It didn't really work since she was 5'2" and I 6'1". What did work however was her telling the pastor who then told my parents. Me arse still stings a little bit. Funny though, I have no lasting scars from those times, just memories I can look back at and laugh now. No harm done.

it is unfair to the teacher to be so vague about the "inappropriate touching". it automatically makes everyone think it is sexual. its so easy to accuse a teacher of something these days, its scary to be in the classroom sometimes. if i grab a students arm to keep them from hitting another student i guess it could be called inappropriate as well. they shouldnt have printed this story until there were more details on exactly what happened. parents should discipline their children more at home and then maybe they would be more respectful to others, sad but true.

I have a brother-in-law who is hard of hearing in one ear thanks to being slapped by a nun in parochial school. Hardee-har-har-har!

This is a HUGE part of the problem in the public schools today. Kids know that no matter how rude, obnoxious, aggressive, or whatever, if the teacher "touches" them it will be the teacher who gets in trouble. There will be no consequences for the student at all!

Inappropriate touching?? This one doesn't sound sexual to me, probably some brat that deserved the "inappropriate touching", also know as discipline, that they got.
No big deal.
