Some people are sick and draw disability and actually need it. Time they pay for meds, utilities, food, and necessities they don,t have enough left to pay rent. This was a rude remark to those people. To the ones who can work I agree.

Well to hear some of you talk the people on Section 8 should'nt have anything, which some of those people do work and some are disable,I know there are some that abuse the program but not all do,being on secion 8 is a program so that the poor can have a decent place to live and not have to live in houses thats not fit to live in, it don't mean that people can't have anything else just because they are on the program, these days you are lucky to find a decent place for 450 and I do think some of the landlords have raised the rent because they think section 8 will pay for it, these people that are bashing the ones on section 8 probably has never had to live on a fix income so until you walk in those shoes don't bash cause one day you just might need the program yourself.

SO WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS YOUR HUSBAND OF 55 YEARS HAS DIED, AND NOW YOU NEED HELP, YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP YOUR DOGS TO. pets dogs/cat can and do eat leftovers. I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE SAYING WHEN THEY GET ON HERE DOWNING PEOPLE CAUSE IT COULD JUST AS EASY BE YOU. AND THEN HOW WOULD YOU FEEL

Is that 600 after section 8 pays there part? Or is that before section 8 pays there part? Why would a 2 bedroom cost that much anyway? I pay 500 for a 4 bedroom 2 bath home.

If you can NOT afford to pay your bills you should NOT be allowed to have pets, smoke, drink, get your hair done, get your nails done, have a cell phone, cable TV, internet or anything else that is NOT a necessity! If you can afford to feed a pet, buy cigs, alcohol, pay to get your hair/nails done, pay your cable/cell phone/internet bill then you do NOT need any kind of assistance in paying your rent!

Get a job and pay your own way then you can have anything you want. As for those that are disabled; that is a different story. Because those people still don't have the money to pay their utilites after they pay rent, even with assistance from Section 8. I am talking about all the people

I am disabled I pay my rent, light, water, phone, the things I need for my house, like soap, tolit paper, trash bag you know things like that. My cigs. and gas for my car. I have 4 dogs and 1 cat I don't buy dog or cat food they eat leftover. There is no money for nothing else. And yes I am on section 8. Without it I wouldn't beable to live. You should really think about what you say about people cause one day it could be you or someone you love. Then there would be dumba$$ people like you out there talking about you or the one you love.

So Smarta$$your saying people who need assistance paying there rent, should be no better off than the people in jail. He!! people in jail get cable, a phone and internet and they get there hair done. You are saying that people who need assistance should be treated worser than the people that break into our homes, steal our cars, rape our kids, beat on our kids, kidnapp our kids, and murder our kids, is that about right. If not then you should rethink what you have said because thats what it comes acrossed as. Would you like it if someone told you that you can't get your hair cut because of whatever. Tell you,you have to get rid of your pet because we don't think you need it anymore. How would you explain that to your kids and grandkids. How about someone comes to you and tell you that we are taking everything you love and have because we don't think you need it anymore.

I'm not on Section 8. I work hard for the money that I have. I pay all my bills on time. I can't afford to have my nails done and it is rare that I can pay for a haircut. I don't mean highlights, extensions, etc. Just a basic haircut. I agree that people on public assistance should forego the extras...if they can afford them, then maybe they shouldn't be on section 8. I remember years ago waiting in line at Wal-mart to return something. The girl in front of me had her hair done, nails, done, cell phone (which I couldn't afford), designer clothes on....and was there to cash in her welfare check! I would rather do without the extras and know that I am making it on my own then get public assistance and "afford" all the luxuries. There is free internet to use at the library and movies to borrow for free.
