All need to be fired. Anyone that survived at the top must certainly be corrupt.

This is certainly the case with these individuals as documented in Apex Thinking...

"A ... misconception about life at the top is that those who make it do so because they exemplify positive human behavior - honesty, integrity, and morality," Polk wrote in the opening chapter.'

"Some great people were let go in the most underhanded, manipulative, disgusting ways, because they did a great job," said a former staffer at MSU's Martinsburg campus. "Polk thinks that anyone who does a good job could be a threat, so he fires them. That's what they did with all the qualified people. It's a trickle-down effect throughout the university."

This is so true. It is about time the public knows the truth of the box parties. There have been many great employees let go. Each and every time this is done, the students suffer. The departments suffer. The school suffers. People are not let go because they cannot do the job, they are let go because they can. Many have expressed this truth. Finally the media has caught on and exposing it.
Good grief

Don't forget Jim Owston he was one of Polk's flunkies. His cottage cheese asss needs to be out of there immediately. He is ruthless, very screwed up with his religion, and would do anything for Polk's agenda. He needs to take his dorky self, nerdy kids and wife out of the Beckley area.

He is promoting second rate educational offerings and will do anything to promote those crappy distance learning courses.

Ruth's most famous quote to students was "don't trust anyone in business" and I say don't trust anything that comes out of Ruth Wylie's mouth.

I believe the following is a lie! Books for many years were not chosen by committee and Polk's book was mandated by Ruth Wylie and William White.

"Ruth Wylie, associate dean of MSU's school of leadership, said "Apex Thinking" is taught in a comparative-leadership course at MSU. A committee of faculty members selects each book that makes it into the curriculum."

Ruth says a faculty committee freely choose the Apex Thinking which is paper thin and has no supporting references. Really! What a joke.

Resign Ruth you are a joke and not fit to serve in higher education.

Based on what he wrote in "Apex Thinking," Polk adhered to the Machiavellian idea that it is better for a leader to be feared than loved.

"Traditional ideology maintains that when fear can be instilled in subordinates, one can effectively control their behavior," states the book.

Cruel leaders become hated. Hate drives the masses to overthrow the cruel leader. One cruel leader down and many more to go at MSU.

Polk appointed his son, Anthony, as business manager and assistant CFO of the Martinsburg campus one month after Anthony graduated from MSU with a business degree in 2010.

No one else was interviewed for the job, Polk told the Gazette-Mail in an earlier interview.

He said he didn't view his son's hiring as a conflict of interest.

"Conflict of interest says you're benefiting from that relationship, but there's no benefit accruing to anyone aside from the university," said Polk. "We put someone who is qualified to do the job."

Anthony started off as a coach. A position that was created for him. During that time frame he was taking classes. Did Anthony pay for those classes? Was the degree just one of the perks secured by his daddy?

It is a conflict of interest. Anthony was no more qualified for the position than the man in the moon. A position that was created just for him by his daddy. He came with no experience to the position.

The MSU administration where probably not that healthy to begin with yet now the school's culture seems normal in their mind.

They are all sick and by the way look at them and you will see

weight gain
dark circles around their eyes
slumped shoulders
dis shoveled appearances
nervous ticks such as the incessant clicking of the Blackberry

They have been bad, are in a bad culture, and are not sick.

Jerry Ice, president of the MSU board of trustees and now the school's acting president, said Polk's use of the university's planes did not play a role in the decision to fire him in January, saying the board's "major concern was this accreditation." Ice did say the trustees were reviewing Polk's use of the university's aircraft.

This is total nonsense. The trustees have been on these planes to. They benefited from the use of the planes. Polk flew them in and back out. The passenger list needs to be reported on too. Polk should not be alone in this blame game. Ask Ice how many times he has rode on each plane.

Anthony Polk had his "prior experience" such as law moving reviewed by Mark Miller and was granted a great deal of undeserved credit. There should be criminal charges filed against Mark Miller, Charles Polk and others. Mark Miller should immediately resign along with Rosland Artis and others who stood by and said nothing!

He has a degree that he did not earn. This is the tip of the iceberg documenting corruption at MSU.

"Depending upon the situation, rather than owning up to an error, a CEO might want to say,'Well, it was not my fault. What went wrong happened because either a subordinate or a board member or someone else caused the problem.' More often than not, the best scapegoat technique is to pass blame along to some abstract agency or organization. Those kinds of institutions can be more easily blamed in many situations when it is awkward or impossible to refute the accusation."

This reminds me of the story Polk told about the failed attempt at the MBA program. Polk stated the review team was stupid and they did not know what they were doing. Polk's excuse for the Show Cause was the HLC was picking on MSU. What a cowardly, childish man. Guess I some men never grow up.

Ruth Wylie, associate dean of MSU's school of leadership, said "Apex Thinking" is taught in a comparative-leadership course at MSU. A committee of faculty members selects each book that makes it into the curriculum.

Does this mean the school of leadership is the only program that practices shared governance?

Students must buy the book, but Polk and White receive no royalties from the sales, said MSU spokesman Andy Wessels. All book proceeds finance staff development for faculty in the School of Leadership.

Hey Andy! Why don't you give an example of staff development for the faculty! What a joke!

White, co-author of the book, said he thought "Apex Thinking" was an "exciting prospect" because the leadership curriculum at MSU used to teach a very optimistic and consensus-building approach to management -- "it was a very Pollyanna approach."

"Lots of classes only talked about the good things of leadership," said White. "We thought that these students needed to be exposed to a different idea. As far as I was concerned, it is a great book to make students think about leadership and not regurgitate the ideal situations. This book gave them an understanding of what leadership does."

Hey White! How is that book working out for you? You really are the example of how well that philosophy has worked out for you. Why don't you talk about all your failures in business. hahahah We know all about them!!!! Those drastically dropping numbers in the school of leadership and the grad school are quite an impressive display of how great you and Ruth are.
