What does being allowed to hunt on Sundays have to do with when the season starts?

Because gun season doesn't start until Mon. ,after that each co. has it's own rules and regulations. You can get a booklet at wal-mart if you can get in through all that coal dust:)

just because someone is shooting does not mean they are hunting. they may be sighting in thier gun getting ready for deer season.

About 10 years ago I was working 6 days every week and sundays every outher week. We were getting the first week of deer season off. I realized a few days before season I had not shot my rifle in. After working 10 hours I did not feel like going to the range (45 min. away) since I live out in the country I take a target behind the house and fire 4-5 shots into the hillside nowhere near anouther house. Well 30 min. later I am setting on the couch resting and the state police and Raleigh co sheriff dept rolled in with bulletprouf vest and camo on. they told me I could not shoot within 500 ft. of a house, When I told them I would get my tape measure and show them I dont live within 500 ft of anouther house they told me I was that close to my own home. When I told them my work hours they let me go with a warning. but if they had to come back I would be ticketed or arrested. I have never been arrested the most trouble I have been is a trafic ticket for not stoping at a stop sign I did not see.

Thats just crazy,as an american you should have the freedom to shoot around your own house as long as the distance from another house is within the 500 foot limit.

Back in the good old days it wouldn't have been a problem. Some things get better in the modern age, but real freedom is dying. As for not being able to hunt on Sunday, even if it's your only day off, blame religion for that.

What good old days are you talking about? Even my grandfather never hunted on Sundays. He went back to 1900. It was a family day way back when. Some people like to go into the woods but not to hunt and I am one of them. If it is a must to go hunting on sunday you need to get a life. Its not a 24/7 sport anyway. many other things to do besides hunting that you can do on Sunday. You might try church as an alternative.

Nothing if that was the case. But some people have bullets in their house. A fellow was killed at Springdale on his own property. I'm not too sure if it's legal to have a gun in the woods out of season anyway. The DNR would be quick to let you know if they see you.

Well they are close to my house...within 300 feet from it...about 150 from dogs...and they are in the woods behind my property...not on theirs...if they were on mine that would be one thing..but they are not..people here have had their homes shot up when they are outside..so I think if you want to sight your gun etc they are man shooting ranges and places far out in the woods to do it in.

You all are not looking at the links that I posted. It shows the laws in regard to your questions. These links are gospel and are coming directly from WV DNR. They're really easy to understand. Big 1 is the only one who is correct so far. No shooting within 500' from A dwelling. It doesn't say other people's dwelling.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Libra

You're full of empathy and affection today, so it would be a shame not to spread it around. It's a marvellous day for a low-key get-together with some of the people you haven't seen during the past few days, because you'll enjoy having a good chat about what's been happening. Once your social duties are out of the way you'll love curling up on the sofa with a good book or a favourite film.
